GOOD AUTHETIC FOOD. This place has good authetic food. The lamb vandaloo is hot and spicy. You even feel the aroma of the food served in the next table. The tandoori chicken is brought to you while seezling. you dont want to miss that. Nice place keep it up and we will always come back

GREAT PLACE. I have widely travelled and this was one of the best food I ate. The atmosphere ambiance are good for romantic or business date. THe place is quiet with lots of room to allow a personal conversation. The service is good and above most restaurants. Good place

Food is Excellent. I went there 3 times in two weeks. Twice for dinner and once for the buffet. The buffet at Bombay Peacock grill has a lot of different items than I have seen in Indian buffets. Everytime the food was really really good and the service was pleasant. My friends loved the spinach dish and the lamb kabob. My tikka masala was outstanding. They also have a frequent diner card. I will spread the word and keep returning.

Awesome food, great atmosphere. The food here is awesome. We had tried the buffet once before, but the dinnner was outstanding, specifically the chicken tikka masala, chillie chicken & saag paneer. The staff were friendly (except for one who did not seem to like conversing much). The dining room is pleasing, filled with a lot of artifacts that seem unique to this restaurant.I even like the music, very unique again. Definelty a top notch place!

Bad Idea!. I have been here several times for the lunch buffet and it was good so I decided to go for Valentine's Day dinner. We had reservations and they seated us on time but it all went downhill from there. We told the waitress that we had a restaurantdotcom certificate and she told us that they were not honoring them for Valentine's day. The restaurantdotcom certificates have several explicit terms printed on them and this was not one of them.

They were "offering" a "special menu" for Valentine's Day and if you wished to order off of the regular menu, there was an extra charge. The "Special Menu" was limited and overpriced. We ordered a cheese appetizer, Naan, cucumber sauce and two eggplant entrees. About an hour later, we received the appetizer which was mediocre and almost cold. The rest came out about a half an hour later. The Naan was burnt, the cucumber sauce was skimpy and the worst I ever had. The eggplant entrees were OK but very small for the $16 price. The rice was also OK, but then, it's rice already!

The nice linen-table-cloth atmosphere was negated with white sheets of paper placed on top so they wouldn't have to change the linens. The talbes were also too close together for a private conversation. I would not go back there even for the buffet.

Poor service, curt waiter. We went there on a Monday night at 8 PM, so it was not busy at all. The waiter was curt and just seemed like he did not want to be there. My brother remarked that he probably just wanted to go home. The waiter never checked up on us and thus our water never got refilled. I asked the busboy when he was clearing some plates.

The worst part was when the bill came. I took my family here was because I got a coupon from restaurant-dot-com. I've never had a problem redeeming a restaurant-dot-com gift certificate. We happened to be a few dollars below the minimum. We asked to order another dish, but the waiter seemed to get even more curt with us telling us that we should've told him about the coupon earlier. Although some restaurants require showing the coupon at the time of ordering, this one had no such clause. He said that we couldn't order food, because the kitchen was closed. It was 9:15 PM. The restaurant closes at 9:30. He may be telling the truth, but he should've at least asked us if we wanted anything else beforehand, especially since we asked to keep a menu, because we initially planned at 8:15 PM to order some take-out before deciding against it. So we just ordered some desert.

It would have been great if it would have ended there. We gave a low tip, because we were displeased with the service. He comes back to us saying that we had to pay a higher tip as part of using the restaurant-dot-com gift certificate which he did not add in. I asked to speak to a manager (to complain about his general rudeness), but he refused to tell us where his manager was or how we could find the manager. He told us that he spent enough time with us. We said we know, that's why we just want to talk to his manager. He just left.

There was no use staying anymore, so we just paid the higher tip and went home and here I am writing a review for the restaurant's terrible service.

SPLENDID FOOD. When you find a great place to eat at you don't wander much. Its so satisfying to be able to go to Bombay Peacock because you know its going to be good food & the place is always so clean & beautiful. So many different selections for the lunch buffet that I could not find elsewhere, and beleve me I have tried several. And the dinner specials are a treat - like the blackened fish. A staple like the samosa is also so uniquely tasty. I simply LOVE THEIR SPLENDID FOOD AND FRIENDLY STAFF.

DISGRACE TO INDIAN RESTAURANTS - WAS SUBJECTED TO VERBAL ABUSE BY RESTAURANT LADY OWNER!. We visited this restaurant during our baltimore trip this memorial weekend and were shocked with the PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE and VERBAL ABUSE that we were subjected to!

1. One of the dishes that we ordered was described as Chicken with Jalepenos on the Menu Card. When the dish arrived there were no Jalepenos but were replaced by Simla Mirch. Upon complaining, Lady Manager comes and takes off the dish from the table.

2. Order given to the Waiter had to be repeated and corrected thrice! Even if the dish was not available, waiter DID NOT communicate to us - Like Point 3 below.

3. Ordered for FRESH LEMONADE with Soda and was served PLAIN SODA. Upon complaining to Waiter, Lady Manager returns back telling us that they DO NOT have FRESH LEMONADE and takes back the PLAIN SODA what was served.

4. Ordered for GOBI MANCHURIAN as a STARTER DISH but was served as a Subji with Naan. We were charged 14$ for this dish which was reasoned out by the Lady Manager that "Gobi Manchurian is considered as a special dish and hence charged accordingly.

5. Chicken Kodambali had Rajma in it, upon only "enquiring ", lady manager was arrogant enough to just take off the dish from the table.

So eventually we spent ALL our evening in this CLASSLESS restaurant (Not even fit to be called as DHAABA) in most our dishes being served and taken off midway, repeating order etc....

TO TOP IT ALL, at the time of billing the Lady Manager showed off all her true colors demonstrating how CHEAP, UNCIVILIZED she is by subjecting us to VERBAL ABUSE - " People Like you should not go to restaurants!!". An absolute disgrace to being an INDIAN itself coz this is how CUSTOMERS are treated in this restaurant!!

Awesome Buffet. The first time I went here was on my first date with my boyfriend. I'd always liked Indian, but I tended to stick to buffets, and dishes with chicken. I wanted to be more adventurous, but I was scared. I made my date a promise, that I would eat what he recommended, as long as we also got my old standby, chicken tikka masala. He ordered a dish with lamb, and after I made him promise not to tell mary on me (mary had a little lamb...get it?) i tried it, and the dish was wonderful! Totally not what I was expecting. I was very pleased with everything we had for dinner that night. The restaurant has since become a bi-weekly staple of ours for lunch. It has a great buffet, although it's always a bonus when they have all my faves (whose names i will totally mess up, so i won't even attempt...other than gulab jamon, which is the best dessert)(also, i think it's saag paneer-spinach with chunks of cheese in it....yummy.) It is a little out of the way, especailly considering there are 2 places right next door to each other on snowden, but that fact is also a positive....i've never seen bombay crowded. I will admit that it can sometimes take a little while to get your check, which is not a problem if you can take a long lunch, but it is annoying if you're in a hurry. I don't know the name of the woman that is normally there to seat and check in on you, but she is awesome!!! One day there was no chicken in the chicken tikka masala, and she brought some out to me right from the kitchen. I love that they bring the naan to the table, but it does occasionally take a while to get there. All in all, I love this place, and they also have a frequent diner program, which we've already saved $15 dollars with.

My benchmark for Indian Cuisine in the US. Best Indian Food east of the Mississippi River! When we retired and moved out of the insane zone around Washington and Baltimore our only major loss was easy access to this restaurant. They compare to the best of their class in London and Paris. The lunch buffet is a fine venue to develop your palate for this cuisine with its variety of textures and flavors. The spicing is piquant but not painful. The owner is usually on site which insures good service and a reliable kitchen. We always make it a point to visit whenever we are within 100 miles of their Columbia location.
