Perfect atmosphere for good food and drink.
Definitely a chill-and-hang-out bar, plus the great food. Not for families. I love it that you can sense the tourists a few blocks away, but they never bother to walk the extra three blocks.
I ordered a couple beers, and each was brought promptly and without much head. Then my dinner came (I had cold potato salad and a crabcake on crackers) and it was wonderful. Also slaw and pickle included, though I didn't eat those. Good wait staff - prompt, no trying to push stuff on you, quick refills, bring hot food.
This place just made me feel good. I think my bill was for $12, which is 2 Miller Lites, an excellent crab cake, fantastic potato salad, and the stuff I didn't eat just because I don't like slaw or pickles.
There's an opportunity to eat outside, but I didn't see anyone doing that. Maybe, when the tourists come, they'd enjoy this. Perhaps I will when the temperature get at least mid-60's.
So. Great food, great service, cool atmosphere of regular bar (some tv's, big oak tables). I enjoyed myself.
Great place for anyone. Fells point is by far one of the best, off-the-beaten path places in Baltimore. Great bars and restaurants, lots of charm and character, and spectacular people everywhere. Take a water taxi or harbor shuttle from Harborplace and walk around, listen to some music, drink great beer. It's just a great neighborhood.
