Sitter & Associates took over effective date of January 1, 2007
by tamarasitter at Citysearch
At the time this return was completed, this tax office was operating as Value Tax Associates. All 2004 tax returns prepared were in FACT prepared under the corporate umbrella of Value Tax Associates.
Tamara Sitter purchased the office from Value Tax Associates and was operating under a franchise agreement from December 2004 through December 2006, when the decision was made to break away from Value Tax Associates. During this time all major decisions were being made by Value Tax Associates.
Sitter & Associates officially took over effective January 1, 2007.
Even though Sitter & Associate is not responsible for any tax returns prepared prior to January 1, 2007, we will help in any way we can to resolve any issues or problems.
Not a Value Tax Associates office, now Sitter Associates
by junevignati at Citysearch
FYI: This complaint should be directed to Sitter and Associates as this office is owned and operated by Tamara Sitter and has no affiliation with Value Tax Associates. It is not part of the Value Tax Associates group which has successfully prepared more than 4,000 tax returns annually since 1995.
Ms. Sitter failed to acknowledge that she purchased the office and ran in entotale the entire time. She alone was responsible for accurate tax return preparations in that office; which included hiring and training adequate staff. Am not sure why she does not assume responsibility for her business.
They make stupid mistakes that cost people money - go somewhere else
by newhartbob at Citysearch
Do not go here. They erroneously took a deduction of $16K from my client's '04 tax return for spousal support he was paying pursuant to Army regulation 608-99. This is a BASIC, STUPID error, and it has now cost my client over $3,000 in back taxes + interest he now has to pay (this is after paying VTA about $250 for his return because they gave him a refund advance loan). All one has to do is actually read the instruction packet that comes with a 1040 and you'll know this is wrong. If they make basic mistakes like this they are incompetent.
- Pros: None
- Cons: They make dumb mistakes and will cause you grief with the IRS.
