Best Meat prices in Town. This Food Lion store is one of the best local stores to shop in.

The store has more specialty foods than practically any other and at very good prices.

For the gentleman that complained about the baskets; give constant complaining a break. Your life may be enriched. Get a cart that is just inside the door. The baskets do get stolen and it is a real problem, but there are still carts.

If you cook Mexican or Island cuisine, there is no better place within 10 miles to shop and that is a conservative distance.

The store staff is always friendly to me. Try not griping so much and enjoy the staff and store for what it is and represents.

It represents a better value for your food dollar than any local market including Wal-Mart and if you are friendly with the staff they never fail to return the respect.

Sad. Sad is the best way to describe this store. Let's start with the staff. The staffs lack of caring or courtesy is a huge turnoff the moment you walk in the door. I frequently find the cashiers chatting with buddies at the registers looking like the are getting their prison visitation, all sullen faced and depressed. This mood does not improve when I walk in the door and they are forced to do their jobs. Not a single smile to be found anywhere remotely near the entry area.

Moving on quickly I find myself faced with the aisle labels, those handy signs they hang over the aisle telling what each contains. Vague and ambiguous sums them up nicely. In the 8-10 visits to this store I have endured I have never gotten a grasp on how they stock the shelves and end up wasting time wandering down aisles hoping to find my items.

Selection & Price: I am quite dissapointed in the lack of variety in this stores miniscule meat department. Small selection every time and quite often the meat looks old or carelessly packaged. The up side? They always have a huge display of ham for when I get the urge to make ham & cheese.

Over to the bakery now. I don't know if magic elves come in in the morning to do the baking then scurry away but I can never seem to find anyone behind the counter in the bakery/deli. Only once have I seen the counter manned and she looked like she was trying to sneak away when I called her over so I could get some deli meat. Rather overpriced as well I might add. The rest of the store had a middling variety of products neither good nor bad and just a bit boring.

Atmosphere:Depressing. The store is sorely in need of an overhaul and better lighing. The place seems to have an overall dim, yellowish light that is reflected in the paint and displays and seems to drain whatever cheer there is right out of you.

One may ask "If you hate it why go back time & again?"Truthfully it is the closest grocery store to my house.10pm & no bread? ok Everyday shopping? No

Terrible. #1 They do not offer hand baskets because they state that they keep getting stolen!! Have you ever heard of such a thing? God forbid you need to buy more than you can hold in your hands...then you are forced to push around a big cart and possibly buy more.

#2 Some of their staff can be very rude and they often complain about their managers while ringing up your items.

#3 The selection is poor. The produce section is the worst and what is with the deli selection? Also, the man that works at the deli is so rude. He huffs and puffs if you buy more than one thing.
