Boy, were we surprised! :). We dined here tonight due to the fact that I took the chance and bought a Groupon coupon. Having not been on the east side of town in quite some time, I asked a work colleague that lives in the area of the diner if he had eaten there and he replied that he had and was always very pleased.

We went on a Tuesday night. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted warmly by the hostess and asked if we wanted a booth or a table. We selected a booth and were seated promptly. Our waitress was very quick about getting our drink order while we perused the menu. Food prices are very fair and there seem to be several specials offered during the evening. Hubby selected the seafood rose' with a cup of Maryland crab soup and I got the crab fluff with cole slaw, mashed potatoes and a French onion soup. The soups arrived fairly quickly. My husband's was very tasty. The onion soup could have a little more beef stock going on with it, however it wasn't bad, just a different interpretation.

Our food arrived and we were very pleased with our selections. The sauce of the seafood rose was full of beautifully sized seafood with just the right spice. My crab fluff was crab from the US, not that far east white crab. I was VERY pleased with that! Service was above and beyond....couldn't have asked for a better server. Facility was clean, bathrooms were well kept and stocked.

We were asked if we wanted dessert, however we couldn't eat another bite. We loved the diner so much that we will be back to try breakfast! :)

ususally never a problem. i am only happy to tell 10 friends who will tell 10 more etc. our entire family eats at the diner very often. normally there is not a problem, however on MOTHERS DAY no less with my mother in law in a nursing home; the only thing she wanted that day was a crabcake from the diner, so my husband orders 5 crab cakes with sides to take to her so that we could all eat dinner together. the nursing home is in essex and not 5 mins away. he gets there we go about unpacking the food only to find no utensils and no fries. when he calls the diner the manager said she was sorry this had happened and could she give us a "credit". not a good answer. no we are not coming back to spend more money. we were not in our home but at a facility that was not prepared to supply us with utensils and the only solution was to take the entire order back, so $90.00 later in we walk with our order. the manager then did credit our entire order back to us while to many (in my opinion) servers stood and watched. they seemed to busy to me to have that many gawkers standing at the register. i also called to ask for the owner, who and rightfully so was enjoying his own mothers day and not on the premisis. we were so ticked off at the cavalier attitude we were shown i really cannot see going back at all. we ended up with mothers day dinner from mcdonalds. thanks boulevard diner. for nothing.

What a Culinary Delight!!!!!!!. The Boulevard Diner suprises me everytime I have a meal there. The food is always very fresh and I like the way they use spices. The soups taste heavenly and I LOVE their crab cakes (excellent!!!!). Another dish that I have ordered many times is the "Chicken Souvlaki Platter." The chicken, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce inside pita bread with Greek salad and French fries is absolutely delicious. The desserts are magical!!!! The servers are always friendly and quick and the diner is spotless. I highly recommend "The Boulevard Diner."

On Pasta Night , I'm In Heaven. At the Boulevard Diner, Tuesday night is pasta night - $9.99 for the pasta dish of your choice. My choice EVERY time - Chicken Romano - strips of grilled chicken tossed with penne pasta, tomatoes, spinach, and mushrooms in a rose cream sauce. The dish has your mouth watering before it's placed in front of you, and leaves you pleasantly full once you're finished - too much to finish (which is sometimes the case since the portions are always HUGE)...doggie bag it :o)

The crab cake is another favorite of mine - a taste of Baltimore no one else in the area has seemed to master - lumps of crab meat, not too creamy, not too fried.

I recommend "the diner" to family, friends, and "out-of-towners" all the time. Try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed :o)

Great place for family dinner and good food. My family and I go here all the time. I LOVE this place. Clean, friendly and great food. I especially love the specials since I like trying new things. Try this place. I really don't know where the one poster was coming from...I think he must have meant another place because no one I know has had an experience like that...don't believe that review!!!

YUK!!!!!. After having moved to the area 3 years ago, I saw this shiny diner a block away from my rowhouse. It reminded me of Double T diner in Annapolis, MD. So I decided to eat there! after eating there several times I enjoyed it. The prices were good and the portions were huge! the waitstaff is excellent, but on one of my recent trips i saw something that changed my perspective on this hellhole. After noticing a few food items being recycled( crackers, Dinner Rolls, butter for the dinner rolls, etc. ) never really bothered me me because I would normally eat from the breakfast menu. then on another night I saw how the employee's were treated. I saw and heard either the owner or the manager YELLING at the employee with his finger pointing to the kitchen door, telling her to get in the kitchen. It was rather disturbing while I was trying to enjoy my meal. I ate my meal, asked for the check, payed my chek and left. I was walking back home and on my way I saw the same employee smoking a cigerette and crying near the backdoor of the Diner. I asked her if she was OK and she started telling me how she misunderstood her customers order, and ended up bringing something the customer didn't want. She then went on to tell me how he (it was the owner) was yeling at her not only in front of customers but also in the kitchen for a good 15 minutes. she fixed her customers order and she was forced to PAY for the $17.00 entree she messed up on with no discount, and if she did not pay for it would have been terminated. I felt very bad for this waitress and after that I have not been back since. I will not support a buisness that treats their employees with such Disrespect and public embarassment as I had noticed. Im passing this on hoping everyone else will not support a buisness that does not appriciate their employees.
