Porters Pub & Grille

Why Porters Is Federal Hill's Favorite

  • NFL Ticket on seven TVs
  • Happy hour and dinner specials
  • Short walk from Inner Harbor

There's a reason the locals voted Porters the best bar in Federal Hill. There's always a friendly neighborhood group there without the crowds of the Cross Street Market area. In fact, it's often referred to as Federal Hill's unofficial living room. And during football season, NFL Ticket is featured on seven flat screen TVs. So you can always catch your team--even if it's not the Ravens.

The food is definitely a step up from your traditional pub menu and the newly remodeled dining room evokes a romantic supper club feel, yet the prices are modest. In fact, with happy hour and food specials, it might be more expensive to eat at home.

Because Porters is just a short walk away from the Inner Harbor, it's the perfect place to take a break from the crowds of Harbor Place.

We visited Porter's for the first time last night. The atmosphere is welcoming, definite neighborhood type of bar. They have a fabulous wine by the glass selection (and the menu is laid out well), but the glasses of wine are very small. The beer selection was above average but they were out of several taps leaving few choices available. The service was not so great - the waitress forgot our soup, brought out the wrong item, and did not ask if we wanted a second round of drinks until the meal was over. Dinner was large portions, but the food was just average. All in all it wasn't a bad experience but does not rank top of my list.

Porters is a great neighborhood treat! Friendly and warm, the meals are consistently good and tasty. Just a great way to spend the evening and feel the warmth of the Federal Hill neighborhood. Although the service can be a little slow, it give you extra time to spend with your friends!
