Best neighborhood spot in Fed Hill.
I almost hate to write this, because Porters already tends to get very crowded during happy hour (5 to 7) up until about 8. But Porters is the best neighborhood bar in Federal Hill, in my opinion. There's just the right mix of regulars, people who live nearby, and people who are just visiting the neighborhood. They serve awesome food at very reasonable prices (considering the quality of the ingredients and creativity of the chef) and they offer pretty good wines to pair with it. It's part sports bar, part restaurant. You could sit at, or stand near, the bar if you just want drinks and maybe a snack. Or get a table in the bar area, or the more formal dining room. You'll find the beer and wine selection to be awesome, the food to be surprisingly tasty, and the people (both staff and other customers) to be happy, warm, and friendly. There's nothing to NOT love about this place.

Porter's is reopened under new ownership!.
Porter's has just re-opened under a new owner and the place looks great! It's very cozy and there are plenty of tvs to watch your favorite teams! The new menu is upscale bar food/comfort food with a twist. Definitely something for every one! Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm. Very convenient to grab a bite before a Ravens or Orioles game! Parking can be hard, but there is a non residential area just 2 blocks away in front of Digital Harbor High School.

Great Atmosphere, Great Food.
I ate at Porters on a Sunday evening in Dec 08 and it was pretty packed, but not so crowded that there was a wait. I went with my two toddlers and their grandparents. Really liked the variety on the menu and the chicken cheese steak was excellent. Only negative was the long wait for the food to arrive and their was a bit of an attitude given from the bartender when we asked that they change one of the stations to show a different game. She indicated she'd do it in a few minutes, but then failed to change the channel. I can give her the benefit of the doubt, given the amount of customers she was trying to cover, though she seemed annoyed at my request.

Great Little Pub, Ok food, Ok service.
We visited Porter's for the first time last night. The atmosphere is welcoming, definite neighborhood type of bar. They have a fabulous wine by the glass selection (and the menu is laid out well), but the glasses of wine are very small. The beer selection was above average but they were out of several taps leaving few choices available. The service was not so great - the waitress forgot our soup, brought out the wrong item, and did not ask if we wanted a second round of drinks until the meal was over. Dinner was large portions, but the food was just average. All in all it wasn't a bad experience but does not rank top of my list.

Good Federal Hill pub.
It's a nice relief to come to Porters after all the craziness on Cross Street. The owner, Joe, is such a great guy. I love the new booths they've added, too.
