Tips for Towson Appliance Svc Inc

Was directed to them by Insinkerator. The first time they installed the new disposal, it leaked. When they came to fix it, they attempted to charge me for the service call. Now, five weeks later, my disposal just fell off my sink.

Consistent Reliable Service. I started using Towson appliance to complete the installation of an unistalled gas stove top in our basement. The rest of the kitchen was fine. They did a good job and I've been using them ever since.

They have helped with our refrigerator, dishwasher, and clothes dryer.

I recommend them to everyone.

Always good service. I've used Towson Appliance several times in the past five years, for repairs to a Jenn Air range and now a Kitchen Aid dishwasher. They have always been responsive and professional. Most recently, my dishwasher went up on Thanksgiving Day. I called the following day to schedule a service call and they came out that Saturday. I can't speak to whether their prices are good or bad. Seems like every appliance that breaks down these days for me needs a new computer pad or other electronic part. Those things are never cheap and they are not things that you want to fool with yourself. I will always call them first.

Bottom of the Barrell. Do not use this company, called and asked them to repair my dryer, repairman said I needed a blower. He fixed the blower and while he was down in basement he went in my wash machine (it is a stack unit) and he deliberatly broke a wire off of a fuse to the dial in my washer so it would not run through it's system to the rinse cycle, Washer never had a problem. That afternoon I had my neighbor look at it he found the wire shoved up to the top of the wires and the fuse end was left on to make it look like it had disconnected it self (I guess the wire was magical and was able to wind it's self up by it's self in an out of the wires???). My neighbor put a new fuse on the end of the wire and whalla the washer runs through it's cycle again. If this is how they handle a new customer I can just imagine how many times they have screwed the public over.

Beware. I was directed to this service company via the Lowe's warranty plan. After waiting 2 days and getting no call for when service would come, I called Lowe's warranty back. Towson Appliance finally called. The nasty woman on the phone complained about her computer problems and said she was not doing a thing for me until I called Lowes and had them FAX my receipt to her to insure that Towson Appliance got paid. First of all, he getting paid by Lowe's is NOT my problem. Secondly, I have already waited 3 days without a working refrigerator for some sign of service or repair. As a consumer with a valid warranty, the service company provided to me by Lowe's should at the very least reliable, and provide acceptable customer service. I have already contacted Lowe's warranty people to file a complaint, and ask them to take Towson Appliance off their service list. They were VERY interested in my comments and filed a complaint. NOTE: You do not have to use the service provider that Lowe's assigns. You can ask for another one on their list. DO NOT USE Towson Appliance unless you are up for an argument, headaches, and an extremely nasty woman on the other end of the phone.

The Best in my book. I have tried many repair companies over the years and I have found that Towson appliance is the Best. They were friendly, reliable, reasonably priced and went above and beyond the call of duty. I have and will continue to recommend Towson Appliance to my family and friends.

love them. I love Towson appliance. The technicians have been most helpful and have always fixed my appliances. There prices are better than several other companies I have called. I understand that some times it may take a week to fix them if they have to order the parts. I will call them first always.

Horrible.... I was directed to this company through our home warranty company, for I encountered a leaking washer the week I moved in to our home. The man looked at my washer and said that there was a tear in the hose. He did not have the part available, but said it would take about 1 week to come in. One week came and went, and I called over the weekend after a week went by. The secretary told me the part was not in yet, and she couldnt contact the company till monday because they were only open week days. I got no such phonecall on Monday or Tuesday. I called again on Wednesday, and got the same response that the part was back ordered and thats why I didn't hear from them. (even though they were supposed to call anyway, just so I knew) Then I get another promise that I would hear from them by the following week. This is still open ended, as I am STILL waiting, but after seeing 2 more 1 star reviews, and NO good ones, I felt the need to add my 2 cents. This is going on 3 weeks now, on what was supposed to take 1 week. I plan on calling my home warranty company to give my bad feedback to the company they chose for me as well....

(PS forget Eh... the 1 star rating should say Run far far away!! haha)

Do not use this company. Awhile back my maytag dishwasher needed service. I used this appliance company versus my normal guy. I thought I'd try a new company. The technican who came treated me like I was some simple stupid woman who didn't know anything "technical". Then I was charged $100 for the service call and the diagnosis?-my dishwasher was a piece of junk and I should get a KitchenAid. WHAT???? I found the broken piece {after he was long gone, I took it apart myself, found the broken motor shaft cover (it was plastic and he said it could not be repaired)}, googled the part -now made in metal, ordered the $35 repair kit and fixed the supposed piece of junk dishwasher myself. And it works like new.

Avoid this company. I'd recommend Abingdon Appliance - great guy, great prices, even brought his teenage son to teach him the business. They been here to install new appliances and fix some old ones. Nice family.

Missed Their Appointment, No Apology, Refused to Contact Manager. Towson Appliance didn't show for their appointment:

* Made an appointment for 9a-12p time period.

* At 10:30a on the day of the appointment, called and confirmed that the tech would be there.

* At noon, no tech, so I called again. "He says he'll be there in 1/2 hour".

Great. I have taken the morning off from work (expensive for me). They haven't met their commitment, and there's no reason to think that they will meet their 2nd commitment ("there in 1/2 an hour"). I cancelled the appointment.

Note: They offered NO apology. They refused to let me talk to the service manager because he was "in the field". Apparently, they don't have radios or cell phones at Towson Appliance.
