What People Are Saying About James Joyce Irish Bar Restaurant the

In Short – The bar's entire interior--from the tabletops down to the flooring--was built in Ireland, then shipped to Baltimore. Although the name pays tribute to the famed Irish writer, the pub itself pays tribute to everything green: From televised games of European football to live Celtic music on stage Tuesday through Saturday; from Guinness on tap to corned beef and cabbage on the menu.
Editor's Tips
- Where to Sit:
- Stake out one of the small nooks for cozying up with your date. Or snag a spot by the fireplace in the dining room.
- When to Go:
- The annual St. Patrick's Day party kicks off at 10am and doesn't stop until 1am. A heated tent squeezes in more revelers, while Irish bands, beverages and bites flow all day.

The food here is really good. The servers are nice, but they're busy. James Joyce has a very nice authentic Irish vibe. The location is also great.
- Pros: food, atmosphere, location
- Cons: parking
Great place to watch a game.

We went with our kids because they had the Orioles/Red Sox game on. It was one of the best meals we had in Baltimore. The staff was great, very attentive. My husband had the corned beef/cabbage dinner. He said it was the best he has ever had. (That is saying a lot!!) Great Salad for me and fish and chips for the kids!! Highly recommend this very relaxing and friendly restaurant.
- Pros: Great corned beef and cabbage. Awesome waitstaff
- Cons: none

I love the James Joyce! It's a great neighborhood bar. It feels like you're right in Ireland. They have really good pot pies too.
- Pros: Not snooty, great beer
