Don't order pizza and don't use a doubletake coupon.
I bought 4 coupons in a "doubletakedeal" promotion. This is a tacky little strip center joint that thinks it is something else (next to the Shoppers Grocery.
I pre-ordered a pizza. When I arrived, they had it ready. It was a dried up little pizza with nothing remarkable to say about it. I was overcharged to begin with.
Then I presented the coupon, the counter person took it in the back, and a little man came out to tell me that the coupon was only for "dine-in". When I told him that no such caveat existed on the coupon, he got in a tangle, and brought me 2 dollar bills in compensation.
As I will never return to this hole in the wall, I will not be using the remaining 3 coupons I bought. So in total, it cost me about $25 for a 14" pizza that was dry and relatively tasteless.
They are thieves, misrepresent themselves, and are not good to do business with. Enough said.
Atmosphere rules at this French New Orleans-themed spot that serves traditional American fare..
In Short
Decorated like a French country bistro with jazzy New Orleans overtones, Mimi's Café was named after a lost love of Arthur Simms, who started the restaurant in 1978 in Anaheim, Calif., with his family. The ambience could only be upstaged by the menu filled with traditional American favorites. Breakfast includes omelets, waffles, muffins and fresh-squeezed juices, while lunch and dinner feature comfort-food classics like pot pie and pot roast, deli-style sandwiches, burgers, pastas, steaks and salads.
Excellent Egyptian Pizza and Everything Else.
I live two blocks away from Mimi's. It is in the shopping center on Smith, next to the Shopper's. Mimi's is a small Egyptian pizza place. They have about 20 or 25 tables. They have pretty much the best Egyptian pizza I've had in the Baltimore area. I have been eating here since before I moved to the area, and I have to say it is my favorite place to eat nearby. Of course, you've got to like Meditteranean. The menu is mostly Egyptian-Mediterranean with some southern Italian attempts, that are pretty good. There are even some delicious curry dishes here.
Mimi's does carryout and delivery, too. Don't call on Monday's, however- you might find the restaurant open but they don't take phone orders or carryout this day.
