I’ve been a student of Mountain Yoga, & owner Terri Hogue, for over 20 years. The focus of the studio is Iyengar Yoga, which emphasizes structural alignment of the body. Props are used to help students access yoga poses that they might not be able to get into, which honors each student’s individuality. I started in my late 20's and will soon be going into my 50's, and the classes have helped me retain flexibility, strength, & provide an oasis of serenity. I appreciate Terri’s long-term commitment to the Pasadena community, allowing us access to yoga in our neighborhood years before it became "mainstream". Her many years of experience shine through. I have been a student at the studio for 6 years. The teaching is of the Iyengar style, focusing on alignment and the use of props when necessary. This is not your "gym" yoga. This studio is good for women and men of all ages with all ranges of flexibility. It leaves no one behind. If you want a solid foundation of the poses, while learning the correct alignment principles to avoid injury this studio is for you. Workshops and special classes are offered in Vinyasa, Yoga Nidra, Meditation, Kids Yoga and guest teachers visit periodically. Mountain Yoga Studio is an excellent place to learn and practice the art of Yoga!
