Pretentious. This bar/restaraunt is modern and pretentious so if this is what you are looking for, then its the perfect place to meet some friends for drinks (except for the high cost of drinks). However, if you are trying to get the true Baltimore experience, then this is not the best place to go. I would skip it and head down to smaller bars in Fell's Point and Canton areas....

Trendy & Hip. I was happy initially to find red maple, the food is great , I love the music, & it has a very modern look. Weekends are tricky it is so crowded & the wait staff is is rude & pushy. Don't stand by the service bar or you are in for a surprise. Try the mango martini it is delicious.

User review by mzlpk. It's a cool space, very well done, but as a place to go it's overpriced, too full of itself, and waaay overrated. If I want to be surrounded by cheesy suburban pseudo-hipsters while spending too much money, I'll go hang out at the mall or something.

Escape the hurlyburly at this ultra modern lounge where the tunes are downtempo and acid-jazz electronica.. In Short
Reeking of big-city panache, this nightspot may leave some wondering if they're still in Bawlmer, hon'. Hardwood floors and whitewashed brick walls establish pure minimalism, while cushioned benches, low tables and backless stools extend for the length of the central room. A second room, with low slung couches and oversized slate fire boxes gets rhythmic support from local DJs. Asian tapas (e.g., duck vindaloo and macadamia tuna) complement cutting-edge martinis and mojitos.

NYC in Baltimore. I was taken here for my birthday and had a great time. The drinks were made well, the tapas were small(even for tapas) but very good. It definitely gets crowded, especially on weekends so reservations are definitely a good idea. The wait staff is a little less than attentive but not so bad that it can't be overlooked. Not meant for romance, but great for a group as long as you call ahead. The prices were a little high for Baltimore but reasonable if it was in NYC. I'm thinking the reason for the pricing was to attract a certain clientele. All in all, a fun night out.
