Ripping You Off
by starling
The other poster is absolutely right--this company is unethical. They claim to have the book, but in reality they are purchasing it for a much lower price from a legitimate bookseller and having it shipped directly to you. Then if it turns out the other bookseller can't or won't ship it, they send you a B.S. e-mail saying "oh the book fell off the truck!" or "oops, we shipped it to you but it was returned with the label torn off!"
Don't believe me? Check around on other sites, like Abebooks. The legitimate booksellers are trying to boycott Pro Quo. Hopefully they'll put them out of business before they rip off anyone else!
ExtraOrdinary Customer Service
by KartikaDragon
This company had a more than reasonable charge for the book I purchased. It was accidentally sent to the wrong address through Amazon. Pro Quo through 6 emails with me got the book back and then mailed it to my correct address all without taking the additional postage that I offered. They are decent and honest and my experience with them was beyond exemplary!
I was shocked to read some of the other reviews. I don't know who they were dealing with but not Pro Quo!
- Pros: Great communication
Fraudulent Relister
by BookyBoogy
Pro Quo Books (a/k/a International Books and BWI Books) re-lists other legitimate seller's books as their own on Amazon for exorbitant prices. If they are lucky enough to snag an unsuspecting buyer, they purchase from the real owner and have it drop-shipped to the customer - then pocket the huge difference.
They are unethical and should be boycotted by book buyers until they stop this deceptive practice .
