What a disappointment. Seems like the chef is using the deep fat fryer for most foods. The falafel was tough, dry and generally unappetizing. Looked like animal droppings. Same with the shrimp cakes (not sure if there really was any shrimp in them though). Bartender was a bit curt and not too helpful. Ask what beers they have and he will recite them in some memorized order. If you interrupt him to ask about a beer he he begins the list again from the top. I would recommend choosing someplace else if going downtown. What a waste of an evening.

Love this place. One of the better tapas restaurants in the area. Nice location, love the staff. Food is actually yummy. Nice atmosphere, as well.

Customers not a priority. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore, dining there more than ten times this past year on a resident physician schedule, referring many friends, until the valet service did more than park my car. Not only did they charge to valet, I gave a tip, they helped themselves to my GPS unit that was not in plain sight. Being that this unit was not in out in the open, it did not occur to me to check for the unit until I got home fifteen minutes later, at which point I was advised it was too late to make a claim. The valet denies responsibility, their insurance company denies responsibility, as does Mezze's manager. I understand the "industry standard" but hailing from NYC where I expect customer satisfaction to be paramount, I would have at least expected an apology or some form of reimbursement from the restaurant itself.

Used to be a great restaurant...just know you will wait 30 minutes with a reservation. I used to love going to Mezze due to the wonderful food and yummy sangria. However, the last 3 times I have been my party of has waited 30 minutes to be seated. Last night, the owner argued with us about the issue instead of admitting that this is unacceptable. He stated that most restaurants require you to wait which is just an insane statement to say to a customer. They are always out of something on a Saturday night and usually the food is cold. Make sure you remember all the items you order. There are 2 different kitchens and often times everything that is ordered does not come out unless you say something. Also when you do have to wait, there is absolutly no room and you will be on top of of 20 other people in the bar area. On NYE they required us to make a 50 dollar deposit for our reservation. After waiting 45 minutes, they tried putting our party of 6 at a 3 person table. My girlfriends and I will be finding a new favorite place to eat!

Not Bad, Not Great. After trying Kali's Court, which I enjoyed very much, I just haaad to try Mezze. I found a parking garage a block up the street for $3.00, so I didn't have to work up a sweat on the way to dinner - Fells Point is usually packed on the weekends. I went with my mother and her friend, both in their early 60's, and both avid foodies. Although there were a few open tables on the first level, the hostess simply said, "Upstairs." She plainly pointed at the staircase. We found a table, and in under ten minutes we were given menus. Everything went smoothly, we tried the Oven Baked Oysters, Shrimp Cakes, Grilled Sardines, Goat Cheese Stuffed Peppers, and old reliable Olives, Spinach Pie, and Roasted Eggplant. They give you a small starter dish of a few olives, and bring a medium sized cone dish of delicious, warm, pita bread. The sangria was sweet and fruity, and available in a carafe. All the food was tastey, and lived up to expectations, but not remarkable. I appreciated that the waiter paced the delivery of the dishes, and they began to arrive promptly. As the last empty dish was removed, we were considering ordering one more thing. The waiter said he would give us a minute to think about it, and gave us a strange look when we asked for some more pita while we reviewed the menu. He disappeared for about 20 minutes, and the pita was delivered by someone else. He then made an appearance in the room, to talk to another table, and ignored my, "excuse me", twice. More time goes by. It was getting late so when somone came to wipe down an empty neighboring table I asked if he could locate our server. After the weird vibe, and the neglect, we decided to just take our check.
