Local Gem.
Nasu Blanca offers an interesting choice of Spanish and Japanese food. The food has been consistently excellent and the specials are always worth trying. We love the variety and the ambience. Service has always been exceptional. Recommended.
What a shame that they have gone out of business.
A rare find for baltimore. I just moved to the Harbor East area of Baltimore and have been eating out every night in search of good food in Baltimore. I have been disappointed every where I have gone. A friend told me I should try Nasu Blanca in Locust Point. I got there and I saw the prices on the menu and was scared, but the food was outstanding and I felt despite the prices being high I was happy when I left. I had a cheese plate, little mini chorizo sausages, bread that was garlicky /olive oily/tomatoey delicious, and a glass of wine. I spent around $45 and I cant wait to go back and try some entres. That neighborhood was not great but seems to be "up and coming" -safety was not an issue for me (but I guess that is a personal thing because I have lived in cities all my life).
SMALL PORTIONS and if you complain to the staff you'll be sorry!. The restaurant is located in a remodeled row house in south Baltimore. Parking is only available on the street if you can find a space. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere until you're seated upstairs. The second floor was cold and uncozy. My wife and I ordered at the same time, our food was delivered to the table soon thereafter, mine was hot and hers was cold. The portions were very small. The prices were too high. When I complained about the sizes to the waitress, the owner came out and said that he doesn't want his customers to leave stuffed. The owner / chef was not hospitable and did not make us feel like we wanted to come back. DON'T EAT HERE IF YOU'RE HUNGRY. Everyone that I spoke to regarding this restaurant said the same thing. And any other comment that was written in this review had to be written by the owner. I wouldn't eat there again.
This gentleman was extremely rude and disrespectful to my staff and my other customers. He was cursing loudly at anyone who would listen. For these reasons I did ask the gentleman to pay his bill and leave. We are in the service industry, but we are not servants, and will not tolerate aggressive and rude behavior.
Editorial Review. Baltimore restaurant, serving Japanese and Spanish cuisine with a cold Sake selection and an all Spanish wine list.
As good as it gets!!!. I have dined at Nasu Blanca on several occasions and I must say it ranks as my top restaurant to frequent. I have been to some of the top restaurants all over the US and Europe and Nasu Blanca remains my first choice. They have an amazing selection of Sake and Wine and are always eager to take the time to explain the story and flavors behind each one. Their appetizers are unique and bursting with flavor. Each one is too good to deny. They have amazing entrees but their Kobe steak tops them all. I never expected that the best steak I would taste would not come from a steakhouse. Nasu Blanca's steak is unparalleled. The mood and atmosphere is warm and soothing and the service is wonderful. Top notch dining in Baltimore and anywhere else in the world for that matter!
