A Kaleidoscope of Color & Pattern. Main Street Oriental Rugs is a kaleidoscope of color and pattern - a glorious spectrum of antique and contemporary rugs and carpets in a setting as unique as many of these items!

I found Main Street Oriental Rugs on-line. Their website showed a vast selection of Persian carpets which immediately impressed me. I wrote down a few of the designs that I liked (Tabriz & Kerman) and I set a day to visit the store.

I felt like I was stepping into a Middle Eastern Kasbah when I entered the showroom. I could spend all day looking at the thousands of carpets in this beautiful historic 18th century stone building.

The showroom is spacious, neutral in decor and flooded with natural light, providing calm surroundings in which to examine the sensuous textiles, sumptuous colors and exquisite patterns of the rugs and carpets. The owner, Mr. Mojan Bagha, explained to me that he hand picks through thousands of rugs to bring his customers some of the most beautiful, durable and collectable rugs on the market.

With over 1000 rugs in the showroom, his stock ranges from small inexpensive rugs to over-sized carpets in excess of 14 feet by 10 feet. Mr. Bagha specializes in antique and new hand-made rugs and carpets from the historically famous carpet weaving counties of Iran, Pakistan, Turkey and Afghanistan. The Persian rugs vary from the elegant designs of the specially commissioned city-based craftsmen, the rustic styles of villagers to the tribal motives of the nomad weavers.

One of the most impressive parts of their Oriental rug collection are the rugs made by Middle Eastern weavers using hand spun, vegetable dyed wool. Many of these stunning rugs have the appearance of 80 year old masterpieces and will grace homes for decades to come.

As a privately owned showroom, Main Street Oriental Rugs offers a high level of personal attention. I purchased a beautiful Tabriz carpet for our living room and I look forward to stepping back in time again with Mr. Bagha!

Excellent Oriental Rug Cleaning Service. I was thrilled to see what an excellent job Main Street Oriental Rugs did cleaning our 18 year old rugs. They had been stored in our basement for several years and had multiple stains on the rugs as well as the fringe. I had rug cleaners clean them in the past, but they were never able to get the stains out. The process that Main Street used to clean our rugs was very high quality and thorough. I was very surprised to see that they had removed the stains. They look like brand new rugs! I highly recommend this company.
