Avoid it - Especially if you care about Sanitation

After seeing that it had a "4 star rating" on Yelp. I decided to try this place...I will add that, I did not go expecting "grand luxury" since it is not a spa/salon etc.....I was shocked that it was a "dive" - dirty, smelled of slight mildew in the pedicure chair area, brow waxings are done in a large office chair in the same area as nails (wax wamer on a bookcase and has layers of old wax caked on it). We had an appointment for 2 pedicures at 9:30am (right when they open on a Saturday). There were only 2 people working (odd for a summer Saturday morning). The water was cold to lukewarm at best, even after politely requesting warmer water. Another woman walked in asking for a mani/pedi so the woman who was going to start my mom (we wanted to go together - hence making the appointment), takes the woman who walked in so my mom sat soaking until my pedicure was complete.The woman working on my pedicure stopped mid-pedicure to write up sales tickets. She also stopped again to oblige a woman who walked in requesting a brow wax (see above description of the "waxing area"). Witnessing all of this made me glad the pedicure was only $23. I also know why it's so cheap, they don't use any quality products (except maybe the polish). I noticed that the bottoms of my feet were white with ash....(they use "Queen Helene's lotion - which can be purchased at the dollar store, and Walmart's "Equate" brand lotion). What sealed the deal on never coming back was noticing someone's half eaten hogie "hanging out" on a manicure station right in front of the station where I sat to dry. Also, I did not see anyone go to the sterilizer to get clean, sanitized tools before starting the next person. I can only hope that the tools used on mine had been sanitized the night before and were ok for use since we were the day's first customers. How anyone could give this place 2 or more stars is beyond me. It's a miracle the State Board hasn't shut them down.
