They are the WORST! Prepare to have your wallet fleeced!. I would not recommend Dental One Associates (Columbia office) to my worst enemy. There is no discerning medical need from the fleecing of your wallet. I went to Dr. Wright several years ago for routine dental work and he convinced me to get a gold overlay for $700 out of pocket (plus insurance) due to the circumstance of a cavity I had. I returned to Dr. Wright this week to get additional cavities filled. To my surprise, he returned with a “treatment plan” of more than $3K, $2 thousand of which is out of pocket. He was recommending three additional gold overlays for my cavities. I told his assistant I didn’t want additional gold overlays and I only wanted a standard composite filling, which my insurance covers. She returned to tell me Dr. Wright “doesn’t do” composite fillings and I needed to find a new dentist. Dr. Wright or his assistant should state up front that he is a cosmetic only dentist. There is no medical need for fillings to be gold. The worst part of this is I wasn’t given any other option for treatment. It was as if his “treatment plan” to have my cavity filled was my only option. The visit was a complete waste of my time, besides who wants a mouth full of gold overlays. It’s ridiculous to think someone wants to fill every cavity in their mouth with GOLD!
Don't even think about it. For people that like a one liner - Don't even think about it, don't go here. These people started doing a deep cleaning when a normal cleaning would do, just to make more money. I just pulled out from this place in the middle of my cleaning(only did half the mouth). When I went to my old dentist, they told me the fact that I didn't need a deep cleaning. Dental One advised me for 2 root canals and gave out of pocket estimate of around $2600, when only one tooth needed root canal. My old dentist gave me an estimate of $75 for the one root canal. The only reason I moved to Dental One was, it is little closer to where I live. But never mind, I have learn't my lesson.
