Inside the classy and elegant Chinese restaurant, an indoor fountain, wooden booths and a 2,000 gallon fish tank welcome college students and middle-aged guests. The eatery i known to be filled to capacity and on some nights, the take-out counter is busy. Menu items include seafood, beef, chicken and pork and more than 10 different kinds of soup and appetizers to choose from. Locals flock for the steamed rockfish with ginger black bean sauce.

Ever since I got to Columbia, everyone says this is the best chinese food in town. Until Jesse Wong's opened, I would have had to agree, which is SAD. This is inauthentic Americanized chinese food. For people who think this is how Chinese food should be, it probably is the best around. If you know better, it's a huge disappointment-- go to wheaton or rockville for better food. I have MSG sensitivity and this place sets me off like no other. When you ask for no MSG, this is when you find out that they can't change the egg rolls because they get them frozen and all the sauces are pre-made and no MSG-free substitutions are available. My last workplace got their catering a lot and I turn down free food because it makes me so ill.
Pros: all your american friends think it's the best
Cons: MSG headaches, and bland average americanized-chinese flavor.

After many years in business, Hunan Manor still one of my favorites Asian Restaurants in Columbia. The food and service are very good. Good portions and good value.
Pros: Nice decor, free parking
