I love Gavigans!!!! I went to shop there because they made this nasty old area of Rockspring Spring and turned it into a beautiful area. I am glad we went and did not listen to the reviews. They helped my community so I want to support them with their business. They have a huge selection of furniture lower priced to higher price items something for everyone of all ages. I recently purchased from the Forest Hill store and was very pleased. My sales person and the manager Valerie were interested and helpful with my needs. I highly recommend this store to anyone who is looking for furniture. They have a lot of American made furniture. My husband and I were very happy with the quality and service. It is wrong to here the negative comments from others about the manager and the owner. The owner was there the day I purchased my furniture, he loaded a cabinet I purchased I did not even know he was the owner until my sales person told me. How many people can say they had their furniture loaded by a owner of a store. Many times you never even meet them. To all who have something negative to say shame on you. It seems to me people always have bad things to say, you rarely here the good things. Thank you Gavigans for my wonderful visit to your store. I will return and recommend you to everyone I talk to.

Are you really that stupid! Every business sells discontinued, damaged and clearanced product "as is", no returns, no service. This is a furniture store not Walmart. And 45 days later? Manufacturers do not take back these types of products, and the conditions of a "clearanced item" is as clear as day. You should be more careful as to what you sign your name to. Its amazing how many people claim this opinion when there's a problem. Take responsibility for your own actions. I'm sure you are not 10 years old, but your rediculous comment sure does sound like it. I have been a dedicated buyer with the Gavigans for awhile now and always pleased with what i've bought, brand new or clearanced. Thank you Rob and Bob for your 30 years of good business!
DON'T BUY FROM THEM ! Here's how they operate I bought a Broyhill table and chair set 1600 dollars.They delivered it and the chairs tetered . So there service tech came out to inform me that there were no bolts in the chairs.My thoughts were a mistake can happen but in all acutallity a year later to the day the chair broke and I was told that it's out of warranty . I climbed there latter of structure for issue's like this and ended talking with Rob Gavigan .He was the most demoralizing person to talk to out of all the employees there . It s amazing to me the lack of intelligence it takes to run a buisiness after talking to the OWNER. The worst experience ever. He took a 50 dollar problem and made it a couple thousand dollar problem.
SHAMEFUL! Do not walk, RUN to another store! – My experience with this store has been a nightmare. It's a shame when the staff is helpful, but the owner's SON (as someone previously mentioned -- notice a trend Mr. Gavigan, Sr.) is the most rude, indignant, ignorant person I have encountered in a long time. It is obvious the Gavigan family does not believe in customer service. I am counting the days until they go out of business as a result; it is inevitable. It is a shame that there are people who do not have self-respect and therefore cannot respect others. I will not divulge any specifics, as I am considering legal action -- truly despicable, but based on previous reviews, it is obvious that Mr. Gavigan's son has been able to treat customers with disregard and disrepect for far too long. Even the staff didn't seem surprised by his behavior. Totally unacceptable -- take your business elsewhere, Gavigan's doesn't deserve your hard-earned money!
Terms Of Sale are Horrendous – "As Is" "No Service" "No Returns" "No Refunds" "No Cancellations"
These are the Terms Of Sale at Gavigan's that one is required to sign when picking up merchandise.
Are these the conditions you want to buy furniture under?
I had to take back lam that was defective after 45 days and was told that "nothing can be done for me" and "it was a "clearance item" sold "as is" and was "two years old."
Why sell out broken merchandise that cannot be sent back to the manufacture? Oh, I know why, because you can refuse to service it because of your predatory business practices embedded in your receipts.
If you like buying furniture from a place that operates like a flea market, then this is the store for you.
Oh, they prefer cash too. I suppose credit cards, with their consumer protections, are not welcomed.
Great Service from START to FINISH – We went to Room Store and ordered furniture. It was supposed to be on March 25th and delivered that week. I called Room Store on the 25th, after not receiving a phone call. I was told the furniture would not be in until late April. My husband went to Room Store within the hour and requested a refund.
After work, we went to Gavigans....Pam at the Dundalk location was very helpful. We brought a similiar sectional set and saved $ 60! Plus, we were told it could be delivered on Thursday...really in 3 days.
It was delivered today (Thursday). The delivery men were exceptional. They were very professional and nice.
It is March 31st and I'm sitting on our new sectional set and loving it. I highly recommend Gavigans.
Exceptional Service and Quality – We purchased a sofa and loveseat last November from Gavigan's, we recently had a quality issue with the sofa and placed a call to their service department. The young lady was very professional and courteous and understood our concern, she opened a service call with their in house technician who arrived on the scheduled date on time. We were very impressed with the turn around time from when we made the call to when their technician arrived, the technician was very knowledgeable about their product line and very professional. After the work had been completed we were amazed at the quality of workmanship preformed by their technician.
Overall our experience from first being greeted by the salesperson to the technician repair was excellent and would not hesitate reccommending Gavigan's.
I WILL NEVER SHOP AT GAVIGAN'S ! – I WAS THINKING ABOUT PURCHASING MY FURNITURE FROM GAVIGAN'S FOR MY NEW HOME UNTIL I SEEN THE REVIEWS ABOUT THEM, ESPECIALLY THE REVIEW FROM "BBONN". OBVIOUSLY THEY DON'T PUT CUSTOMERS FIRST! BBONN'S FURNITURE WAS ONLY A LITTLE OVER A MONTH OLD AND THEY WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING FOR HER? THATS EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. GAVIGAN'S NEEDS TO BE READING THESE REVIEWS AND DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT BEFORE THEY LOSE ALL THEIR CUSTOMERS AND GO OUT OF BUSINESS. I WILL DEFINTELY BE SHOPPING ELSE WHERE AS IN THE ROOMSTORE, VALUE CITY, ETC.
Worst customer service from owners SON – I recently purchased Berkline furniture from this store(Micro-Fiber Plush/Burgundy) for $2000.00 in October 2008 with Great customer service. I received my furniture on December 7, 2008 looked Beautiful until now February 2009(1.5 months later) it has divots in it several places and has a massive amount of white fuzz all over the seating areas...i have tried relentlessly to remove them by means of lint remover tools, tape, vacuums and even a razor...none of these worked so i called Gavigans and explained my situation and they asked me to send pictures to a website...which i did and then received a call form the warehouse telling me that someone would be out to look at it and they did. Not gonna mention the persons name but he was of no help and told me that he would only fix the one divot in the back and nothing else...I told him that it was not acceptable and i was going to call and contact Berkline personally and he proceeded to tell me "You can call anyone you want, you can call the Attorney General if you want" and then he stormed out my home saying that "He would not even fix the back", because i said i was going to call Berkline myself. I thought buy making a purchase from a highly recommended store with furniture such as Berkline i wouldn't have any problems...Got news for you i think I'll keep shopping at the less pricier stores like VALUE CITY FURNITURE where my previous set was purchased which lasted me 7 YEARS!! HONESTLY I COULD KEEP WRITING ABOUT THIS EXPERIANCE ALLDAY IM SO UPSET!!
Worst expericence ever – I ordered a chest from Gavigans and they told me 4 to 6 weeks. After not hearing from someone in about 5 weeks, I called them. They said they would check on my order and let me know. A few days later someone calls me asking for my credit card number so they can credit my account for the chest that was cancelled. I asked why was it cancelled and she said "Oh didn't anyone call you and tell you that the chest was discontinued?" No one ever called to tell me about the chest as I waited to hear from them for five weeks. I was very very unsatisfied with how Gavigans handled my order.
