Asked for another filet properly cooked on to later have the manager return with origional steak arruging it was proiperly cook. When I slice off 2 slices to show it was overcook, this person just said I needed to cut it in the middle. Guess that is the only part fit to eat. I could not eat it. These people are cheap. I would not recommend it as customer friendly. I left without eating and it cost of almost $40.
best food!. The carry out is the best! Best soups, Best food, Best Prices and the nicest manager. Love this place
Too many bad experiences for me. I will not go there again..
I have had two bad experiences with this place, both of which had to do with the waitresses. On both occassions, at least five or six years apart, my party was basically ignorred after our initial time of being seated. On both occassions, there were other people at other tables very close to us that got the kind of attention that movie stars should get! This went on in our line of sight all the while we were conviently forgotten about. They did not even try to hide from us the obnoxious great service they were giving these other tables. We had to ask for, and remind the waitress, after they forgot over and over again, what we were in need of. Even when we did all of this reminding, they still forgot us. On both occassions, it was like we had the plague or something! My Mom and Day were with us the second time. They had been going there for years. Needless to say, they were terribly disappointed! They were so upset that they convinced my wife and I to just "walk out" with them. This was after a very long time of being ignored. The manager on duty did nothing to make things right with us as we were leaving either. He did apologize, but that was all he did. To my complete surprise he did not offer anything in return, like a free meal, some kind of retribution, anything at all. He was very unprofessional about the whole thing and seemed to lack the proper manageriorial skills necessary to deal with a situation such as ours.
On a good note, The place itself clean and the food is good. I know because I did have a couple of good experiences before these regrettalbe consecutive (six year apart) bad ones. They also give you a ton of salad, all you can eat, with your meals.
However, if I have a desire to eat in that area, I will just go a block down the road to G & M where I have never been disappointed with my service and the food has always been good. I have been there many times and I can attest that G & M is the place to go.
Crabcakes!!. I don't agree with the person above on the hosts at all, they seemed very friendly and welcoming. The fact that this restaurant is family owned is what makes it simply amazing! The waitors are great, the service is wonderful and the food is to die for!I've gone a few times, I would highly recommend the Chicken Creole or the Double Jumbo Lump Crabcakes! Happy Eating!
Ignor the Hosts. If you can get past the attitudes of the evening host and hostess, you should have a very nice evening. It's hard to enter a restaurant and expect to enjoy yourself when the people seating you look like they want to take your head off, and that they are doing you a favor by being there. Once inside, most of the servers are good, food is excellent. If you could simply seat yourself, I believe the atmosphere would be nicer. Thank goodness we were sat promptly. Also, topics of discussion by the same should not be able to be overheard by patrons. I didn't particularly care to hear how the hostess felt about other employees.
best stuffed rockfish. Recommend going during Winter months to feast on the succulent stuffed rockfish with crab imperial. This feast can feed two: don't eat too much salad or there will be no room for dinner. Forget about Oliver Garden- too commerical. This is more family oriented and the staff are highly knowledable and passionate about the menu items.
Great Italian Food. Olive Grove is a great resturant good for families, friends, large groups, or intimate dates whether formal or informal. The food is always delicious no matter what you order, and with such a large menu with a wide variety of choices, choosing only one meal may be the worst thing about the restaurant. With friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere, Olive Grove tops my list of best Italian food.
Best for Birthdays. My friend and I share a birthday (she had it first). A coworker recommended this restaurant and we went with husbands and my kids and had a great time. Good Italian food, pizza for the little kid, and wonderful crab cakes, plus cake for dessert! Good service (but we went on a Tuesday night, it may be worse at capacity), unusual for us lately.
