Worst Mexican rest..
This is the most awful establishment Mexican food I have ever had. I'm proud of all Latino establishments but when the customer service is bad and some waitress attitudes is awful it's a shame. The food is undercook at times and when you inform them they get mad. I was charge twice on my tab and when I tried to get my money back it was a long process. Until this day I'm yet to get my money, so I just notify my credit card company and let them handle it. How is it that you can charge for credit cards but credit back into someone card if there is an error. Management needs to be accountable for how their employees act because is a representation of the establishment as a whole. Pay close attention when your ready to pay your bill and when you get charge.
this was one of the worst mexican meals i have had.
recently moved here from virginia beach and i already miss the mexican food down there. the chips tasted like they came from a cheap chip knock-off company. the salsa was ok... the salsa might be the best part. i had the burrito and the beef was horrible. tasted like it was made with a wholesale spice packet. my 5 year old daughter loves mexican and after one bite she told me " dad, this isnt mexican food. where are we?"
i hope i can find a great mexican place soon!!! in va beach, you get two dips, salsa and a white sauce. if you havent had the white sauce try it when you find a place that serves it!!!
Superb Mexican meal. Service was great. Chips and salsa were superb. The burrittos were the best we have had since leaving California. The even had a Mariachi duet playing.
good food but does get crowded. stopped in for lunch after many trips by. service was friendly. not too upscale but appropriate for that locale. i ordered the chicken soft tacos and a crab and shrimp quesadilla. quesadilla was awesome. really good. all of the ingrediants were fresh. chicken tacos were a little bland but still nice. i recommend it.
Nothing special. We went there after recommendations from our friends and I have to say that I was not impressed. First the place could use some decorating making it more inviting to customers. It also looks like no maintenance has ever been done and it wouldn't hurt to clean the place either. Food was more on the expensive side and the taste was just average. We rather go to a good (and more authentic) mexican palce than this one.
Not for me. I could not agree more. I cannot understand why people wait in line to eat here. The food is bland and overcooked. The service is not great, and the place is not well maintained. I gave the place a few tries thinking I was probably hitting it at a bad day, but the last time we ate there, we ended up sending everything back. I really love Mexican food, but this place is not for me.
Yuck, Yuck and more Yuck. I went to this restaurant because a co-worker recommended it. I am mexican and see the lines out the door of this place on the weekend. All I can say is what a disappointment. The food was disgusting. I ordered the beef enchiladas thinking that I could take leftovers home and eat them for breakfast with an egg in the morning, but the food was so bad that I just left it on my plate. The beans tasted like they just opened a can of Goya black beans, barely heated them and put some cheese on them. And the rice tasted like fake rice-a-roni spanish rice. NO FLAVOR. My husband ordered the seafood chimichanga, the shrimp were old, the crab meat was something that looked like it was dredged from the bottom of the Chesapeake Bay. DO NOT GO TO EAT THERE, you will be disappointed. Try Mi Casa in Ellicott City, it is AUTHENTIC mexican food that tastes good.
Reading the reviews we were expecting a wonderful Mexican meal. I guess we should have been more wary when we saw a few other patrons in the place enjoying their CHEESEBURGERS.
The chips and salsa were very good, but the rest of the food...disappointing.
I ordered their house-made sangria, which was tasty, but the fruit was very soft. As if it had been frozen with the ice in the glass. YUCK. I bit into the apple expecting to get a crunch and got smoosh instead. Not good.
My husband ordered the combo fajitas, and while they sounded good, sizzling on the way in to the dining room, they looked pretty bad. It looked as if they had cooked the meat earlier and just reheated it and threw it on top of the onions in the pan. Plus they were way overcooked and dry. The seasonings also looked as if they had just been put on the meat. Again, not good.
I ordered a combo plate with three items.
The pork tamale - wonderful! Delicious, generous and covered with a yummy tomatillo sauce. My bean tostada soft, but edible. At least the corn tortilla was fried in house. The biggest disappointment, however, was the chicken taco. It was served in a PRE-FORMED STALE corn shell, a la Taco Bell. I've never been given a stale shell at Taco Bell however. When I go to a MEXICAN restaurant that isn't something that should ever come out on my plate. They fried the tostada shell, why not the taco. I couldn't even eat it. The chicken didn't even taste good. A Mexican restaurant that can't even produce a tasty, simple taco?
My son's cheese enchilada, off of the children's menu, was cheesy & good. He enjoyed it very much. Maybe we should have all ordered off of the children's menu?
I am very surprised by the many over-the-top positive recommendations on this place. From the mushy fruit, to the bad taco, to the lazy fajitas. It was a bad experience.
The food makes the meal
Awesome Mexican Food. We have been eating at Pachangas for 7 years and have never had bad food. Sometimes the service is a little slow but that depends how busy they are. It will get busy on the weekends so get there early. The combo meals are a great deal and not expensive. You get a choice of 2,3, or 4 items to choose from. The food comes out pretty fast. Most weekends also live music. They also offer carry out which you can get in no time. Order it and pick it up in usually 15 minutes. You have try it. We go at least once a week.
Not worth your time. Tried here on the recommendation of several people, and it was just awful. Our server, Mary, was the snarky, ticked off waitress that you see in every movie and joke, but it was just terrible and so not funny. She took our order, brought our drinks, and never came back to give us refills, or to ask if our food was all right. We had to go to the bar just to get a glass of water. The food was palatable, but I was expecting some sort of flavor to it. It was bland enough to serve to a hospital patient. I talked to the manager about our service and he said that he would talk to Mary about it. Give me a break! I don't think anyone who reads this is THAT naive. So, if you want blah food, a bad waitress named Mary, and poor resolution from the management then you have found your place!!
