Not that great (at best). My girlfriend and I had dinner on a Monday night. The only upside to this place was the server. He was friendly and attentive without being annoying.

Now the bad. Lets start with the food. What my girlfriend and I ordered:

Chicken Fajitas - The chicken was ok. The seasoning lacked any real character - seemed like a generic supermarket 'mexican' seasoning. Peppers and onions seemed mostly fresh and the chicken/veg was served sizzling on a cast iron pan. The tortillas were obviously store-bought and were barely warm. I'm very sure the menu included cheese with the fajitas but I received none. Also received a very small amount of Pico de gallo (about a tablespoon for 3 fajitas is not enough). Rice included with the meal was overcooked and almost mushy.

Margarita Chicken - Arrived sizzling as well but smothered in cheese (too much). Rice for this dish was also overcooked.

Fried Plantains - Very very poor. Plantains were obviously sliced then fried. (Supposed to be fried and then sliced) This caused them to be very dry and bland/tasteless. They were obviously over-fried as some of them were very very dark brown. (Not light golden brown like they should be)

Fried Ice Cream - The fried ice cream is supposed to be very good here. I beg to differ. Approximately 2 minutes elapsed from the time the server walked back with our fried ice cream order to when the dish arrived on our table. Obviously not enough time to actually fry a scoop of ice cream, plate it, drizzle with hot fudge, whipped cream and bring the dish out the table without the server sprinting. Although the crust was ok and the ice cream was ok, the dish had been obviously been previously fried and then placed back into the freezer. (The crust was not hot at all).

The fried ice-cream was a lazy excuse for a desert, the main dishes showed a lack of interest - as if the 'chef' simply wanted to get the dish done and out of the kitchen.

For the quality of the main dishes - they were over-priced. $15 for each main dish? Rip-off in my opinion.

The ambiance leaves something to be desired. The "Tex-Mex" decorations are gaudy (overly-bright colored blankets hanging the walls, sombreros on every lamp at every table, empty beer boxes sit atop a faux metal roof at one end of the restaurant. Stucco/wall plaster is peeling off in some places. Booth seats appear very old.

I will not be returning to this restaurant. This place is on par with a bad Don Pablos and would definately rather drive the extra hour to go to a Chevy's should I really really want some good Tex-Mex food.

best mexican food in the aria. We visit this restaurant quite often, and never were disappointed. The food is creative and full of great mexican flavor, the service is attentive and friendly, the ambience is cozy and very mexican. And the best part is the value. You will get lot's of great food for a very reasonable price. Give it a try, I garanty you will have a great experience.
