Overpriced and bland..
My husband and I are new to the Baltimore area and wanted to eat Thai. We chose this restaurant largely based on the great reviews it got on citysearch. Boy were we disappointed! I feel sorry for people who think this is "great" Thai food. The sauces were bland, the ingredients NOT fresh, and worst of all, the prices were about double what we've normally paid for really tasty Thai food in other cities such as Chicago and New York City.
I ordered the red shrimp curry, and husband ordered the Pad Thai. I did not enjoy my curry at all. Then again, I always compare my shrimp curry to the best experience in shrimp curry I've ever had, and that was in Hawaii (there is no substitute for FRESH coconut milk!), so maybe that's not fair, but this was not very tasty at all. Hubby's pad thai was really bland. The appetizer was delicious, but cost $8 for 5 very small dumplings. We also enjoyed the rice pudding.
Overall, the bill came to over $50, when we usually pay $20 for eating Thai. That's why eating Thai is usually so great - awesome, fresh, filling food on the cheap! The tasty appetizer and dessert is what comprises the 2 star rating.
Great food!. Great food! Friendly service, fast take-out. I recommendt the spicy basil chicken - it's the best!!
The best Thai food in Baltimore, and Charlie is the most knowledgeable waiter I've ever met.. I've been enjoying Thai Landing for, at least, the past fifteen years. Charlie was my guide to Thai cuisine then and now. My wife has numerous food allergies, and Charlie, with his exxtensive knowledge of the menu and the ingredients, will tell her what she can and can't have. When I order a five star appetizer and a six star entree, I know what I'll be getting. Other Thai restaurants either can't or won't give me the heat level I request. (I've tried them all) I've introduced numerous people to Thai Landing, and it's become thier favorite Thai restaurant also. We've never had a problem getting a table, whether it's my wife and myself ot a group of 10-12. Excellent food, excellent service, and compared to other Thai restaurants, the prices are well within range. Enjoy.
The Best Thai Baltimore has to Offer. Definitely the best Thai in Baltimore. The atmosphere isn't romantic, but the service is attentive and very knowledgeable. The wine and beer selections are limited, your top shelf selections. However, the food is authentic, fresh, and delicious! The menu has a wide offering of dishes to cater to everyone and beware - three stars or more is HOT HOT HOT. The Drunken Noodles are amazing. Be sure to ask your server how hot the dish ranks that day, as the peppers they use (fresh or dried) will determine the spiciness of the dish and it can greatly vary. And the BEST thing is that this restaurant is totally affordable (disregard the previous review that said the dishes are pricey, that is just crazy talk.) The soups range from $3-5, the apps range from $5-8, and the dishes range from $12-15. And Charlie is just the sweetest guy! Excellent service Charlie, thank you! We'll be back!
Excellent. This is truely the best Thai Restaurant in Baltimore. My favourite is Drunken Noodles, Thai Chicken Basil (cannot remember the Thai name) and the Cashew Chicken. The curries are ok and the appertizers are good. I do like the thai custard here, most people like the sticky rice and mango. I am a big Mango fan, don't care much for the variety that comes into the States mostly from Mexico. Enjoy!!!
Thai Me Up!.
This is the best Thai food in Baltimore--or anywhere. The waiters are all nice (especially the knowledgeable and helpful Charlie, whom we love!), the atmosphere is quiet, and the clientele are friendly.
For a special treat, try the Tung Thong, a mix of chicken and veggies deep friend in a crisp bean curd (don't let that turn you off), which you dip in the sweetest peanut sauce.
This is authentic Thai food. If you want the Americanized version, go almost anywhere else!
