WORST FOOD IN BALTIMORE FOR THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!.
PLEASE TAKE HEED AND LET ME SAVE YOU MISERY
A perfect father's day was absolutely ruined by this TRASHED "Animal Food" Buffet!!! God, i don't know where to start....... Some of the seafood (mussels and clams) were reheated leftovers, the snow crabs were just shells and the meat resembled thread, there should have been FORMAL CHARGES for the impersonation of crabcakes (gummy biscuits), the fish nuggets were mixed with cold fries, and the fried chicken was saturated in oil .... all this for 28.99 per person!!!! PLEASE DO NOT DO IT TO YOURSELF!!!!!! PHILLIPS BUFFET (IN BALTIMORE) IS THE WORST MONEY I'VE EVER SPENT ON FOOD AND WE'RE TRYING TO RE-COUP IT NOW!!! If you ignore my warning ........ think about me when you leave...........
pleasantly suprised.
my boyfriend and i were driving from DC to NY and stopped in Baltimore to go to his favorite restaurant on the harbor. the wait was ridiculously long so we went to phillips only because we could be seated in under an hour. what a great choice! the food was EXCELLENT, the customer service on par, and the waitress's beer recommendation was great (loose cannon). we were so happy with our experience that we sought out the manager just to thank her for a lovely evening. my only qualm about the night was that we were seated in an inner room which had windows to the outer rooms (i think it was the carriage house) and whenever i tried to open the blinds to look out to the rest of the restaurant the person sitting on the other side would immediately shut them. it was weird. anyway, i have been to countless seafood restaurants, including the chains (legal, charterhouse etc) and while the decor may not be a modern as such places - its not supposed to be. we have highly recommended to several people already.
***By the way citysearch, why is the word "h1t" (as in it the beer really h1t the spot) deemed inappropriate????????)
overpriced tasteless dogfood. I can't remember when I felt more ripped off and dissapointed after eating at a restaurant. I had the chesapeake crab cakes and a cup of clam chowder. the chowder was good, the crab cakes virtually had no taste and at $26.99 what a rip off. with size of the cakes and the pitiful side that meal should be priced at around $12-15. You should be ashamed of yourselves for charging that amount for such a pitiful meal. At a price of $26.99 two sides should have been offered and at least serve bread. I am so mad, that I feel like doing a chargeback on my credit card and kicking my coworkers A for making the recommendation. when friends and co-workers ask me where to eat at the inner harbor the answer is simple legal sea foods
Great Place!. I just went here with a group of 8 guys before a night on the town. The bar staff (although a bit slow) did their best to keep up with us, and the food was great! GO!
very disappointing!. I was so disappointed..The food and the service was not what I would expect from well known restaurant, it was less than that of a corner dive bar. The crab cakes were the small, If your on a diet..Perfect..No doggie bag needed. I ordered the cream of crab soup, ok taste but no crab. Not a good representation of what real Baltimore crab cakes taste. I would not recommend or return.
Great Crab Cakes.
After reading some of the reviews on here and some other sources, my partner and I were torn as to wehre to get out requisite Baltimore crab cake experience. In the end we settled on Phillips and happened to be at the one right on the Inner Harbor (we had just come from the aquarium).
Anyway, the crab cakes were out of this world. Quite possibly the best I've ever had, I would recommend them without hesitation. We ended up getting the crab cake dinner and splitting it, then getting a salad and a soup. With the pre-meal bread, it turned out to be a ton of food and would have easily filled me up even if it had been dinner instead of lunch.
Prices were on par with what we saw from everyone else in the area. Not cheap, but hey, it's seafood....what do you expect?
The Best Crabcakes and fresh Seafood around!. This place has really made a change for the better. Great service and tasty food has me tickeled and I cant wait to bring my friends back to the harbor.
B-More's own Red Lobster.
Service was terrible. They didn't have us marked down though I phoned in res. 3 days before. Reconsider sitting both in and outside. There is a water taxi right in front, so if you like the smell of diesel exhaust with your food this place is tops, and if you like loud groups of babies and NASCAR fans, well the indoor seating is for you.
Waiter: Our drink order was messed up, water only filled once and I got attitude for asking our candle be lit!
Food: Our artichoke crab dip contained zero crab and our entries were average at best as far as seafood goes. Thank god I got the email coupon for the app. and I've had way better crabcakes. This place is basically a dressed up Red Lobster. Good for groups I suppose.
Good food, but still not happy. I have been to the DC location and I love it. This Harborplace location was full of disapointment. 1st, the buffet is completely separated from the regular restaurant (unlike the DC location) so basically we could only order from the menu. I was really looking forward to the buffet. Well then I ordered one of my favorite beers off the menu. They were out of that beer. I decided to order a dozen crabs off the menu, as did my wife. They were out of crabs. This is starting to get repetative. Also there was a band with blaring trumpets about 20 feet away, making it impossible to have a real conversation. The waiter consistantly had to be reminded of requests we had made earlier. Overall it was a very disapointing experience. The one plus was that I ordered the crab imperial and it was awesome.
Great Service and Crabcakes. The service at Phillips was awesome. It definitely enhanced our dining experience. I have eaten their several times and always had a lovely time. The view was remarkable from almost every table we were seated in. The crabcakes were amazing, probably the best I have ever had. This is a must stop when downtown; at least this local thinks so.
