TRUE STEAKHOUSE. FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. SERVICE WAS ALSO VERY GOOD. GREAT OVERALL EXPERIENCE. ONLY COMPLAINT WOULD BE THE TABLES BEING TOO CLOSE TOGETHER,
Still a great prime rib. and yes, there are plenty of other delicious things to eat there, BUT if you want a great prime rib, think of The Prime Rib first - I have never been let down by the food or staff here
Perfect for Special Date. The Rib is the perfect date restaurant. Whether it's a first date, or your 20th anniversary, your date will always feel special if you take them to the Prime Rib. The food is always excellent, the ambiance very romantic, and the service outstanding.
EXCELLENT FOOD!!!. We were not disappointed when we went here for my husband's birthday. He ordered crab appetizer which was delicious and a nice portion. Ribs were his main course, which were the best he ever had, very meaty and tender. As a vegetarian, I planned on ordering side dishes, but they had a vegetarian platter that wasn't listed on the menu, which included the sides I was planning on ordering and then some. It was also ample and delicious. When I made the reservations I didn't mention it was for his birthday b/c we wouldn't eat the cake anyhow. But the waiter asked if it was a special occasion and my husband said it was his birthday, but not to bring any cake, the waiter surprised us by bringing out a large parfait glass full of fresh strawberries.
Worth its fame. If you want a steakhouse that's truly worth its value; if you want to try the best steak in your lifetime; if you want a high-class place in Baltimore; if you like dim-light restaurants and live jazz entertainment; if you want to feel high-class and pampered: this is THE steakhouse. No other steakhouse in Baltimore comes close to being this good (in steaks, at least).
A shrine to beef at its best, this "civilized steakhouse" offers superb steak and exquisite ambience..
The Scene
The Prime Rib calls itself "the civilized steakhouse" with just cause: The epitome of timeless elegance, dining here is an occasion worth anticipating. Black and gold-lacquered walls, leather chairs, elaborate flowers and piano music evoke times gone by when dining was a remarkable experience.
The Food
Although the seafood variety is outstanding, it's the "aged to perfection" beef that has sealed the Prime Rib's fame. The namesake cut is a colossal chunk of prime rib, always cooked to perfection that barely fits on the plate. Lamb chops are juicy and perfectly seasoned. The crab imperial does Baltimore's mascot proud, while the lobster bisque is thick and rich. Even the mashed potatoes, though they pale in comparison to a succulent filet or swordfish steak, are done just right.
THE BEST. Afer so many years owning, operating, and dining at restaurants throughout this country and some in Europe, I feel that not only does the Prime Rib have exquisite food, especially the Prime Rib, but also it has perfected anticipatory service. With the unusual, dramatic, and gorgeous decor, ambience is sublime. The table tops are picture perfect, featuring International silver flatware and shaded candle lamps and the glass top piano makes the white linened dining room, tuxedoed wait staff, and the crisp white jacketed bartenders a detail of perfection.
Very Nice - TC.
I'm always searching for the best in quality, service & value. As steak houses go, the Prime Rib has gained a spot in my top five. Youll easily drop a $150 for two. However, the proportions are so large, I had to take some home! The food is prepared perfectly & the service is top shelf. If youll budget allow it, trust me, youll enjoy it.
Keep looking for ratings from TC. Tough Customer
The Fairest in the land. Wonderful romantic ambience. You feel Fred Astaire or Gary Grant will walk in wearing tuxedos. The service is impeccable, and the food is in a world unto itself. Wonderful fish and the best steak in town. While not the place you might expect to find it, the best crab cake in this town famous for same. Finally the desserts will send you home deciding you will need to fast for a month
SCOTT & MAGS. THERE IS NO BETTER STEAK IN BALTIMORE. THE FOOD, SERVICE, AND ATMOSPHERE ARE EXCELLENT. THE DRINKS ARE PERFECT EVERY TIME. FOOD TO DIE FOR.
