Avoid the desserts at all cost. Pisces suffers from the bane of all restuarants, it is inconsistent. We dined there on a Wednesday night and were delighted with the wait staff, the food and the presentation. On thursday night, we returned, and my party was seated at the worst possible table, i objected and was moved to a table away from the bar and a racous crowd, the chilean sea bass which on Wednesday was a magnificient dish, with an excellent presentation on Thursday was a totally different dish, basically a slab of fish served in a most unappealing manner. The wait staff on Wednesday was attentative, on thursday was invisible, and the dessert, a strawberry shortcaake was not just disappointing it was tasteless, and ruined a decent meal. Pisces really needs to get its act together to be considered a fine restuarant. Consistency makes a good restuarant, inconsistency makes a mediocre one.…
Our Valentine's Day Choice. My boyfriend of 4 years took me there for our very first V-Day Dinner. And our anniversary is only 5 days prior. Now we go every year for our Anniversary/Valentine's Day. The view of Baltimore's Inner Harbor...the Mood...the Food...Everything is always wonderful!…
Very Average. Keep Searching.
As a visitor from "the sticks" I was intrigued when I saw reviews (Citysearch and other) saying that Pisces was one of the best restaurants in the Inner Harbor. If this is at the top, then there
isn't a lot to be hopeful about in Baltimore.
The restaurant on top of a dated Hyatt. The decor late-90s. I could practicall hear Monica Lewinsky in my head. The hideous smell was coconut and stale smoke--perhaps there were a lot of Parliament-smoking, Hawaiian Tropic-wearing beach hags in hiding. It wasn't slightly crowded, but we got the old "we'll try to fit you in".
The food was "meh." I'd say it wasn't even as good as Phillips, with pretension of being so much more. Nothing said "fine dining" or $35 entrees (although that's what it cost). You had the ususals: rare tuna, salmon with cream sauce, crab cakes.…
A view from the 14th floor. I have been to Pisces numerous times, and it is always a pleasure to dine there. I really love their cream of crab soup - simple and delicious. The waitstaff is very attentive and friendly. Parking is validated by the waitstaff if you park in the hotel's facilities. The view of the Inner Harbor is wonderful, especially at night when the city is all lit up. I highly recommend this restaurant to tourists and Baltimoreans alike.…
Great Sunday Brunch. I love having Sunday brunch when I'm away from home. This place lived up to all the hype. It is the BEST place to go for Sunday brunch when in Baltimore. The food was fresh and delicious! The menu of choices was vast and the service was great. Our waiter saw to our needs. The plus for me was the validated parking when dining at the restaurant. Great place all around.…
