Known as the "kid-powered museum," Port Discovery is chock-full of interactive exhibits for kids. Rising like Jack's beanstalk through the center of the building, Kidworks is a three-story tree house where kids can climb, swing and crawl on ladders, ropes and bridges.

The Collection
Make rubbings of hieroglyphics and follow them to a pharaoh's secret tomb. Gather clues while ducking through the crooked doors and warped rooms of Miss Perception's Mystery House. Design and build your own projects in the R&D Dreamland. You can even participate in a televised game show at the MPT Studioworks. The Exploration Center houses a branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, with computer stations and good old-fashioned books for anyone wanting to learn more about science.

Not quite there. I had heard wonderful things about Port Discovery, but was very disapointed. Many areas were not fully functional and the lines at the working exhibits were very bad.

I have been to many better hands on museums in other cities.

Highly Recommend It!!!. I took my neice and nephew and they had the BEST time! There were so many cool areas - a large climbing tower, a mystery house, an egyptian exhibit, computer stations...and they got to make arts and crafts projects to take home with them. I foud it to be fun and educational too. Definitely will bring them back!

WOW!. What a great place for kids - wonderful environment for families to interact with each other. My kids especially liked the mystery house, where you follow clues to find missing family members. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
