I have been to the About Faces Day Spa & Salon in Towson, MD several times and was surprised at how poor the treatment was. I let one horrible incident go assuming that it was just a poor hair stylist who may have been having a bad day, so I went again. Poor treatment continued. The hair stylist Mardi immediately complained about her busy schedule and blamed it on me because I was able to make an appointment with her that same day. She was very intimidating, rude, and nasty. I was a complete stranger to her, but that didn't stop her from arguing with me and blaming her busy day on me rather than the receptionist or her bosss. I didn't say anything to this out of control hair stylist named Mardi. I simply walked out of the salon, because I was so uncomfortable. I called and complained to the Manager who had just gotten back from a Las Vegas vacation. The Manager said Mardi was one of their top hair stylists there. That statement was frightening to me. When you walk into this salon, you get greeted by well-dressed women and men in suits. It starts out great until you meet your unhappy, overworked, rude hair stylist. It is very difficult for a customer to sit several minutes getting your hair cut and styled by a bad hair stylist. I expected it to be fancy and better than most salons, but I receive better treatment from the hair stylists at the Hair Cuttery in Cockeysville, MD than at the About Faces Day Spa & Salon in Towson, MD. It's unbelievable at the Towson location!

When you go to About Faces think about people who work there. Company does not care about workers who make money for them and make them famous. For example, they don't care about massage therapists. They sit 6 hours of their shift for nothing, waiting for the customer to come. Company doesn’t pay for waiting and people go home without making a single penny. Masseurs are not getting paid for canceled appointments or no shows. When you cancel appointment or did not show up, masseurs just wasted a whole hour of waiting for you for nothing. If customers did not pay for a service they think that they did not pay to a company making millions of dollars. It is true, but they also did not pay to a worker who did the job and who barely makes 15,000 a year. If customer chose a wrong type of massage and a job was done, company does not compensate massage therapist for customer's mistake. Please make sure you know the type of massage you signing for. Nobody compensates masseurs for missed appointment or misused services. Their paychecks are peanuts. When you make an appointment you deal not only with Company, but with a particular human being, who is waiting for you at a certain time and has feelings and needs and if you don’t show up or cancel you make this human being miserable and broke. Masseurs are special people. They believe that making somebody feel good is an honor and massage therapist will never extinct. So please do not take an advantage of it. Please plan your appointments accurately and call 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel. And those, who don’t pay, please be aware that you don’t harm a company, but you hurt defenseless workers who count every single penny. About Faces do not care about people who work for them. No wonder workers do not care about customers!
