What I was hoping for in a psychiatrist

I have suffered from depression and anxiety for many years. I got tired of seeing one person for therapy and a psychiatrist for medication. It never worked. After reading these reviews I began seeing Dr. Peters for treatment. What a relief. He is a very compassionate man, an excellent therapist and understands how to use medications. Dr. Peters is not in my insurance network, but he does submit treatment plans for me to my insurance company and I can get reimbursed out of network. Well worth the difference. I recommend Dr. Peters very highly. Thank you previous reviewers

Oustanding psychiatrist

Ditto to everything above. I had seen two "therapists" before and learned the hard way that all therapists are not created equally. There is something to be said for the twelve years of medical and psychiatric training that a psychiatrist goes through. Dr. Peters is an outstanding therapist and excellent physician. He seemed to understand all of my medical issues and worked with me to find the right medication. Our therapy sessions are far more productive than any I've had in the past. What every mental health professional should be, and a wonderful sense of humor to boot.

• Pros: Always on time, easy access, outstanding care
• Cons: out-of network, but worth every penny

Five stars!

I was looking for a psychiatrist who could manage my medication and provide good psychotherapy in one place. I've had it with seeing a psychiatrist for medication and a psychologist or social worker for therapy. That just doesn't work. I consulted with Dr. Peters based on the earlier review, and was every bit as satisfied. Dr. Peters is warm, attentive, thoughtful and very knowledgeable about medication. He is also clearly a very well trained therapist as he got to issues in the first session that I had never realized. Five stars!

• Pros: Easy parking, Always on time
• Cons: Is not in-network with many insurance companies, had to use my out-of-network benefit, but well work it.

Excellent Psychiatrist!

A gentleman and a true physician. Finally a psychiatrist who listens, understands and doesn't just write prescriptions. I have been in therapy before, but have never had the experience of working with someone who was as thoughtful, genuine and bright as Dr. Peters. He helped me work through issues that had plagued me for years and has the rare ability to combine incisive psychotherapy and expert pharmacology. I would recommend him to anyone.
