Gils Pizza is not only the place for the best pizza ever, but a community institution for which I am ever grateful. Here's why.
Once when I was a teenager with a broken leg, I was craving a pizza from Gils so bad that I decided to walk from my home near White Avenue. By the time I got to Frankford Avenue my leg was throbbing, but the thought of that delicious pie kept me going.
Today I work in the field of Search and Rescue. Thank you Gils for teaching me to persevere under pressure!
love their pizza – best pizza, not expensive....go all the time after work. get the pepperoni pizza you won't be dissapointed
Heaven in a Pizza – My wife and her family turned me onto Gil's about 10 or 11 years ago and let me tell you, anyone who doesn't like their pizza needs to be sent away and locked in a rubber room. I have had pizza from NY to Fla and from MD to OK and this is #1 in my book.
Editorial Review by Christy Buena – No-frills eatery specializes in serving one thing, pizza. Locals flock for fresh 12-inch pies prepared daily.
The ONLY Pizza worth eating – I grew up with Gil's pizza when I lived in Gardenville. When my family moved to Bel Air, I still made the trek to enjoy the best pizza ever. Nowadays when I fly back from California(!), you know where I go--back to Gil's for the only pizza worth eating. It's not only the most delicious, but it's also a great bargain.
I wish they'd open a Gil's in Ventura County. If they ever close, I'd like to buy the recipe and open Gil's all across the country.
Things not to miss when flying back to MD from CA: (1) steamed crabs & cream of crab soup (2) Gil's Pizza (3) Berger's Cookies (shortbread with fudge made in Baltimore)--no joke--ask anyone who knows me.
There ain't no better pizza but Gil's! – Many, many moons ago, I use to have Gil's pizza with relatives. I work near Gil's and now have pizza every Friday at lunch. The Cheese is heavenly-with the real Italian flavor. Just enough sauce and cheese. None of the imitation sauces or cheese used by other pizza shops. Why can't Gil's come to Harford County?
There's something SPECIAL about Gil's Pizza. – I'm 54 and I've been eating pizza from this place since I was a young teen. Actually, many people don't know it, but they used to be down the street further. Anyway, they have a taste that isn't matched by any other pizza joint in town. One of the secrets is, they use a healthy helping of asiago cheese with their mozzarela. Oops. . . I guess it's not a secret any more! You have to taste it to see what a difference it makes.
Hey, these guys do one thing and one thing only. They make great pizza in one size out of the front of a row house. It goes to show you; when you focus on one thing, you can provide true excellence.
User review by moogaboogababe – My husband and I have been coming to Gil's since the early eighties. There is no better pizza around. We currently live in Canton and still go to Gil's for the best pizza in the world.
Gills is probably the best pizza you will ever eat. We have been eating Gills Pizza for over 40 years. We now live 45 minutes away and have not been able to find a pizza that even comes close. When we get into Baltimore City we stop and get a few half baked pizzas and take them home and freeze them. Sure wish they would branch out to the counties.
Best Pizza – My Husband and I have been going to Gil's for over twenty years. It's a little far for where we live but more than worth the trip. You can have all the franchise pizza palors you want but nobody doesn't like Gil's!
