BEST SALON I'VE EVER BEEN TO!. This place is amazing, and by far the best salon I have ever been to. I have been getting my hair highlighted and cut by Stevie here for a year and a half and I am always more than happy with the results. My roommate and I have been advocating for this salon for 2 years now, and all of our friends that go to Stevie are always very impressed and satisfied with their results. The salon is very clean, trendy, and has a very friendly team environment. Everyone who works here truly knows what they're doing. I would highly recommend this place to everyone (don't listen to people who gave it bad reviews, I promise you will love it!)

crappy haircut. So I called this place based on the good reviews and because it's not far from my work. I'd gotten a haircut from my usual salon and it was okay, but nothing great...and when I called, I was specific that I was looking for a really good haircut, and to tweak the one I'd gotten, the shape of which was just "off". They made an appointment for me that day (I should've been suspicious, I know) and I went in. Nice place, busy...and the girl who cut my hair (Lisa) was very sweet and pleasant, but also very young, as in, I suspect she may've just gotten her license. She took her time, though, and seemed to know what she was doing during the consult...but the haircut was bad. It's completely uneven in the back, visibly longer on the left than on the right, and will be hard to fix, now, without going much shorter than I wanted. I realized she was floundering, even panicking a little, when her hands started to shake, and I should have jumped up and left, but I guess I kept hoping she'd get it right. Finally, I just told her to stop, paid my bill (even tipped her) and left...I really hoped maybe it was just the way she blew it out, but I've washed and dried it 4 times now, and it's most definitely uneven. Especially disappointing since I told them I really needed someone good to fix a not-great cut to begin with; why on earth would they book me with a novice with shaky hands? The shop itself is glitzy and probably, if you manage to get in with someone who knows what she's doing, it would be okay, but this was not. Guess I'm going back to my old salon and admitting I "cheated" and hoping my usual stylist can do something with this mess.

average cut. I am new in the area, and I went to that salon based on the positive reviews. I have to say that my hairdresser skills are below average. Basically you feel that the hairdressers there are just not creative and do not have the passion and the skills to be great hairdressers. But i have to say, I have high standard. I used to go to a great salon in my country. The hairdressers there won prizes in international competitions. You can feel that they live for their passion, and the price is just about the same as in Studio 1612! So if you decide to come here, just don't expect something wonderfull. You will just have an average cut, like you could have in any B category salons. Nothing to be exited about.

Wonderful service.... I've been going to Caroline Kesselring for 3-4 years at Studio 1612 and a number of my friends go to her too. She's fantastic, whether you need a trim or a totally new 'do she's fantastic. She's not overly aggressive with the scissors so you never feel chopped and she is very talented with color and highlights. I highly recommend this salon and specifically, Caroline.

Great Highlights with Lesley. I just got my hair cut and highlighted by Lesley. She was so easy to talk to about what I wanted. It's not easy to find someone who will listen and she did exactly what I wanted. All my coworkers keep on telling me I've never looked better. I will definately be going back to her =)!

Great haircuts from Becky. I was recommended to this place by a friend and although my first experience was just alright (can't recall who cut my hair), I have to say my subsequent trips there were great. I get my hair cut with Becky, who is pretty good, very friendly and works with you to get a look that suits you.

As far as appointments, you do have to book a few days in advance, but I've had times when I got an appointment a day later. Rgd waiting, I've been lucky and never had to wait for more than 5 minutes. Street parking is freely available in the evenings when I go.

You do feel like the place is busy and you have to watch your step so you don't bump into people, but that's not a huge problem for me.

A great salon. I love this salon! I was recently recommended by a friend to try Studio 1612. I walked in and the atmosphere was wonderful. It is a beautiful salon and the people are friendly! I was also looking for a dramatic change in my hair and Judy, the owner, was able to deliver the look I was hoping for. I now have people comment all the time on my hair saying how great it is! The only negative thing I would have to say is that it is extremely difficult to book an appointment, but other than that II would highly recommend Studio1612.

Stressful, Gossipy Atmosphere. I went here to get my hair cut twice. Both times, they made me sit and wait for at least 15 minutes...Never mind that I had made an appointment. Then I got my hair washed and Leslie cut my hair. I was rushed through the appointment. I did end up giving her a 10 dollar tip both times though because I liked the haircut. The second time, my hair was still damp when she sent me on my way, because she was running late and another client had arrived. Also worth mentioning, the frontdesk people were extremely rude and not very helpful. I felt really confused and didn't know where I was supposed to sit or wait for Leslie while they were just staring me at me instead of helping me out. In all honesty, she did do a great job with the haircut itself, but for $60, I'd expect to be treated better. Thank Gd, I switched to Eastbank.

Studio 1612. I was very unhappy with the cut I received at Studio 1612. Somehow the stylist found a way to cut my hair so that it emphasized all the of the worst traits and things I hate about my hair. I'm growing it out and will have to take a chance with another salon. I definitely will not be going back here.

Great!. I went in on Saturday to get my hair cut and highlighted. Per a coworker of mine's recommendation, I saw Monica and she was great. I wanted a bob w/ natural looking highlights and she did exactly as I described. She is also very easy to talk to. I love my hair, and so does everyone at work (it's Monday). I will be going back.
