Doug is a great stylist and is patient with the elderly. The Hair Cuttery is a convenient location and reasonably priced. Three or four times a year I take my 92-year-old mother there for a permanent on her naturally snow-white hair. Doug is the hair stylist we use because he is patient and respectful with her. She always looks beautiful afterward. Every perm has been a success. Perms take about 2 hours so many salons don't want to bother. Doug at Hair Cuttery does a great job and I am very grateful that he is there and that the Hair Cuttery exists. Maureen Daly
They burnt my skin.
I went there for an eye-brow and upper-lip wax and came back badly burnt.
It has been 3 days and I am still in pain, I cannot talk, eat or smile because of the burns above my lip. The length of the burn is almost an inch on one side and half an inch on the other. The lady also spilled wax all over my ear and hair which took hours for me to remove. (She did not have the courtesy to tell me about pouring wax on my hair).
I did not realize how bad the burns were as I stepped out, I thought it was just the normal sting of being waxed, but it was much worse than that.
The scabs from the burns on my face also make it extremely embarrassing for me to show my face in public. I am afraid of ending up with a scar on my face because of this experience.
I am in pain.

Dreadful attitude. I called and was told that if I walked in I would wait 15-20 minutes. I live about 5 minutes' walk from the Hair Cuttery, so I walked around immediately and signed in, along with my 20 month son, for a hair cut for each of us. We were both well dressed and polite, and sat patiently. After well over half an hour it became apparent that people were walking in and being placed ahead of us in the line after seeking out individual stylists. At least one of these definitely did not have an appointment. I asked about this, and of course was told that the other people had appointments. I mentioned that I had called and had been told that I would not have to wait longer than 20 minutes, and had not been given the option of making an appointment. I was told in a condescending tone that only people who already had experience with an individual stylist's work could make a special arrangement with that stylist for an appointment, and that since I had not been a customer previously I would have to sit and wait. Given that there was no indication that I was advancing in the line, and given that neither 20 month old children nor their fathers have the infinite patience that seemed to be called for, we left.
I walked out.
This hair cuttery, located in the rotunda, was absolutely horrible. Only go here if you are male and need a cheap haircut. DO NOT go here if you are female and need anything extensive done. That was my mistake. I was dumb and wanted to save a couple of bucks on getting my hair dyed. It wasn't even going to be cheap...it was gonna be over $100...ambience was horrible...stuff looked cheap...staff didn't look like they knew all that much about hair but what did I expect, it was a hair cuttery.
What I didn't expect was that 2 mins after I get in the chair, a former client walks in, talks to my stylist in whispers, telling her something to the effect of...she had burned her hair showing her with her hands and gestures. My stylist got completely flustered, walked to and fro, whispering to her coworkers. I sat in the chair and she avoided complete eye contact with me. She then disappeared to the back somewhere, probably completely overwhelmed. After like 5-10 mins I walked out...I was like I don't know what is going on here but I have to leave...it was a blessing in disguise. I had wanted to walk out so many times during my time there. What was I thinking?
