What People Are Saying About Paper Moon Diner

The Scene – Pez dispensers, Barbie dolls and mannequins with and without arms are just some of the eclectic items that make this 24-hour restaurant such serious fun. The small space is divided into three sections: The middle has a standard diner-style counter; the back room has orange and lime walls with Keith Haring-style paintings; the front room--with its worn wooden floors--is crammed with all kinds of objects, including, of all things, a blender. – – The Food – Papermoon has plenty to satisfy late-night cravings: sweet potato fries with deep-fried crunch…
Editor's Tips
- Know Before You Go:
- Unfortunately, Papermoon Diner does not have a liquor license.
- Look Good:
- Don't ask the waitstaff to split the check; they won't do it. Save yourself the embarrassment.
- Save Time:
- Reservations are a good idea for parties of five or more, but not one of you will be seated until all five of you arrive.
Delish!

I really like this place. I have only been there for brunch and a couple times for lunch during the week. When I've gone the help has been super nice to me. And i LOVE their omelettes, burgers, and meatloaf. Seriously delish!
You never get tired of the decor. They should make an Eye Spy book or something like it!
I don't recommend!

This was my first time at paper moon and I won't be returning! The service was aweful! I had a party of 7 and the waiter was so nasty, she wasn't friendly at all. I will never go back and the food wasn't good! Never again will I go and o will tell others not to go either.
Weird Stuff, Dude!

The blueberry pancakes are the best ever. Weird, freaky decor. Lots of posing little JHU undergrads, but you ain't goin' there for that are you? Park close to the door 'cause that part of Remington is a little dicy.
- Pros: It's weird
- Cons: scary neighborhood
Our 1:50 am is their 2 am. Last call at a diner?
by Lord Baltimule at Citysearch
So twice I have been to Paper Moon, following last call, in the final quarter hour before 2 am. Twice, I have been there with minutes to spare before 2 am. And twice I have been told, that I was too late, to be served. They used to be open 24 hours. Now 2 am. The hostess was rude shoving me out the door even though I was there at 1:58.
You used to be a fun place to go to or take newbies and out of towners to. Surly hostesses are gonna keep me away from this mediocre, overpriced late night grub.
I ended up buying some pancakes and making my own omelette at home.
Here's a newsflash. You don't keep customers with craptastic front of house service like that.
- Pros: interesting decor, formerly late night diner
- Cons: surly hostess, mediocre food
I know you're hungry, but keep driving

The omelets were tasty, and more than I could finish. But I could not get over thinking "I could EASILY make this at home for 1/10th of the price!" as I ate . . . and I could have had it in more comfort. The chairs are not comfortable, and even the decor is disturbing. I brought my little brother and sister with me. They couldn't even use the bathroom because of the creepy painted mannequin in the bathroom.
- Pros: Large portions
- Cons: Overpriced food, Distracting/Disturbing decor
