Decent food...disappointing atmosphere.
I've only been to Tamber's once. Their menu is an unusual mix of traditional American diner fare (cheeseburgers, French toast, and so forth), and Indian cuisine.
I opted for the vegetable korma, with a mango lassi and a basket of naan stuffed with potatoes. It was good - not mindblowingly good, but I had no complaints. I cleaned my plate and felt plenty satisfied. I especially liked the raita.
The atmosphere, however, is pretty lame. It feels sterile, empty, and utilitarian, with acrylic tabletops, a drop ceiling, bland carpet, and an unimaginative layout.
Worth a try if you're in the neighborhood and you like Indian food, but perhaps not destined to become your favorite restaurant.
nifty fifties goes Indian. Tambers is a great place to get a good meal at a reasonable cost. I was surprised to find that the Indian cuisine offered there is as good as there American fare. It is a good place to go when you and your date Indian and American food. You both leave happy
