Next best thing to family!

My family doesn't know where we would be without this place! After moving to the local area and having placed our daughter in a BAD center (which was closed down), we were desperate to find a safe, loving daycare which would not only teach her the essentials, but go the extra mile and love her as much as we do. If you think that's impossible - you're wrong! Middle River Baptist Child Development Center was everything we were looking for and more! The teachers and staff here are more than just teachers and child care providers - they are extended family. They are actively involved with the children and make learning fun for all ages! The older kids (3+) get to go on field trips frequently and they always encourage parent involvement in the classroom. They have visits from the Reading Rover library bus, water play, arts/crafts, movies, parties, etc. They always make the holidays throught the year special and make a point to honor Mom & Dad on their special day. The Christmas and Easter programs are not to be missed!

Whenever we have had a complaint or suggestion, they have been very welcoming of our ideas and have always resolved issues quickly. Just like ANY child care center (no matter how much or little you pay), there will be colds, flu and ringworm... but nothing out of the normal. I don't think parents would take their child out of elementary school because a few kids got the Chicken Pox - well the same thing goes with Ringworm. Kids will be kids!

Our family highly recommends this child care center. It and the people who work there have been such a blessing in our lives and knowing our daughter is safe and loved all day gives us the peace of mind to go to work so we can provide for our family without having to worry about her well-being. The fact that the prices are VERY reasonable... that's just icing on the cake!

Keep Looking, Don't Put Your Kid Here!

This place looks great but it's a joke. They don't have teachers there that want to work, they just sit around doing nothing. Cell phones are frequently used by staff. Kids are not monitered in the bathrooms, spread of ringworm frequent. Many teachers seem to be there just for the money and are miserable, not there for the kids at all. A great picture is painted until you really get behind the scenes and have been there a good bit. Don't waste your time!
