Good Casual Dining. This Applebee's is one of my favorite local chain restaurants. I am a fan of the fiesta lime chicken. The wait staff is down-to-earth and the prices are reasonable. As casual dining goes, I find it a welcome option to overcrowded buffets and Southern-style restaurants where patrons have to wait for seating and get jabbed by elbows on a lazy Sunday. It also seems to be popular among families passing through the area.

A low-key, friendly environment attracts plenty of families to this reliable chain. Kids in the big booths--often clutching free balloons and crayons--usually outnumber adults sitting at the bar. The menu offers filling American fare with no surprises, from mozzarella sticks and nachos to rollups and burgers. Entrees include steaks, fajitas and main dish salads. The calorie-conscious can select from a list of Weight Watchers-inspired dishes like mesquite chicken salad and grilled tilapia with mango salsa.
