Editorial Review for Mother's Federal Hill Grille – by Laureen Miles Brunelli
In Short
Sunlight pouring through the unusually large windows--along with a big-screen TV and pool table--gives it the look of a family game room by day. When the Ravens play, the party spills out onto a small deck and into the tiny parking lot for a tailgate party. The dining side, with its exposed-brick walls, pressed-tin ceiling and dimmer lighting, is tavern-like. The menu offers items like a vegan veggie wrap, chicken Marsala, sandwiches and homemade ice cream.

Mother's is one of the few places that can be all things to all people. If you are looking for excellent food in a warm friendly environment Mothers cant be beat. If you want to cheer for your favorite sports teams, eat wings, and consume large quantities of alcohol, you are still in the right spot. Yes it's crowded, yes it gets a little loud late at night, but for a fun filled unpretentious good time, Mothers is tough to beat.
Pros: Food, Service, Specials
Cons: Crowded, Parking

My associates and I were looking for a nice place to enjoy our last night in Baltimore before we head back up to New York. We started our night with an amazing dinner from Mothers. Looks can be deceiving sometimes, what seems to be a heavily bar oriented restaurant has a suprisingly large, quiet dining room. We were just looking for some lite fare before our night out on the town, and weren't expecting much since it was nearly ten o'clock on a Friday night, but we were welcomed by an unusually large menu considering the size of the modest kitchen. My friends and I, each got the "house specialty", the soy glazed tuna. The sushi grade tuna was cooked to perfection and service was prompt and very friendly. We also indulged ourselves in their homemade ice cream, which was equally delicious.
Pros: Great Parking, Great Seafood, Friendly Service
Cons: Last call at 2am!
