Mothers Best Breakfast. My 8 year old son and I went to breakfast at Mothers a few months ago for breakfast and he said to me "these are the best pancakes ever Dad." The pancakes were huge and there was enough left for breakfast the next morning, I had the Gordo Bagel and the lump crabmeat was plentiful and delicious. We have returned several times for breakfast. Kids are given crayons and an activity page. The prices are affordable and the service was excellent.
Consistently good lunch spot. Mother's never disappoints. Although it's not just a lunch spot, I always seem to order only sandwiches, wraps, and burgers when I'm there. There are plenty of choices for things to accompany your meal, great fries, crispy onion rings, etc. This is one of my favorite places for lunch when I don't feel like taking a chance on my meal. For me, it's always consistently good bar grub, but it probably never knocked my socks off either.
Go and try the food and stay for the bar.
My friend and i are are on the search for good burgers. Heart Attack On A Plate sound like we had to try.
The burger is stuffed with cheese beer battered and deep fried and served with chipotle mayo. In the end the burger was depending on the deep fried hook. I would go back for the chipotle mayo and to try
Great atmosphere.
How good is this place?!?! Awesome! Came in for lunch - had an excellent French Dip and a healthy portion of tasty Onion Rings, also MD Crab soup was very good - but the staff was so nice and friendly I ended up staying past happy hour.
A few drinks after lunch turned into a fun night. Had day shift change to night staff and they were just as friendly and welcoming. I know that's their job to be hospitable over the bar but along with prompt service and refills it made me a patron for longer.
I will definitely be back here!
Unprofessional disrespectful. Security staff putting feet all over seats and tabletops, being completely rude and disrespectful. Napoleon complex
Unprofessional and Rude!.
During a recent Raven's game by BF and I visited Mother's as we always have when we are in town. All was fine until a drunk patron accosted me. I understood that she was not functioning and after several physical blows from her i took her by the wrists and moved her away from me. She left...the whole altercation was about 10 sec long. I was then informed that I had to leave!!! The bouncer never once asked ME what happened. He came within inches of my face telling me that I had to go cause i was involved in a fight. She didn't get ejected because she wasn't around. The manager who declined to give his name (tall black man) was just as rude and didn't care to hear what happened. The staff was unprofessional and rude.
The worst part...no one listened or cared...Great job for a place that is trying to promote a "friendly" atmosphere...
Also...I sincerely doubt fire codes are being obeyed...
Food just not the same. The food at Mother's used to be great. Went recently and the Wharf Club (my fav sandwish ever) showed up looking like it was on a diet. No more tons of shrimp and crab meat. I sent it back and it still came back very skimpie. I will never choose to eat at Mother's just for dinner.
Light and bright, this neighborhood bar sports a menu for players of every stripe..
In Short
Sunlight pouring through the unusually large windows--along with a big-screen TV and pool table--gives it the look of a family game room by day. When the Ravens play, the party spills out onto a small deck and into the tiny parking lot for a tailgate party. The dining side, with its exposed-brick walls, pressed-tin ceiling and dimmer lighting, is tavern-like. The menu offers items like a vegan veggie wrap, chicken Marsala, sandwiches and homemade ice cream.
A little of this, and a little of that. Mother's is one of the few places that can be all things to all people. If you are looking for excellent food in a warm friendly environment Mothers cant be beat. If you want to cheer for your favorite sports teams, eat wings, and consume large quantities of alcohol, you are still in the right spot. Yes it's crowded, yes it gets a little loud late at night, but for a fun filled unpretentious good time, Mothers is tough to beat.
A true place where you can feel at home.. My associates and I were looking for a nice place to enjoy our last night in Baltimore before we head back up to New York. We started our night with an amazing dinner from Mothers. Looks can be deceiving sometimes, what seems to be a heavily bar oriented restaurant has a suprisingly large, quiet dining room. We were just looking for some lite fare before our night out on the town, and weren't expecting much since it was nearly ten o'clock on a Friday night, but we were welcomed by an unusually large menu considering the size of the modest kitchen. My friends and I, each got the "house specialty", the soy glazed tuna. The sushi grade tuna was cooked to perfection and service was prompt and very friendly. We also indulged ourselves in their homemade ice cream, which was equally delicious.
