Gem of Locust Point. This small corner restaurant has been the cornerstone of the neighborhood for decades. As locals know, certain days have certain specials. Go on Thursday for the BEST sour beef and dumplings in Baltimore. Expect a small wait on the weekends unless you want to sit at the counter but the wait's not too long because the tables turn pretty quickly.

This is home-cooking, nothing fancy or froufrou like some of the other places that have sprung up (and closed rather quickly) in the area. It's solid and reliable. I've never had a bad meal there. I've tried to recreate their beef barley soup with no sucess so I just order extra to go when it's on the menu!

Mr. Rallo is a sweetheart who remembers his customers and makes them feel like they've known him forever (which is actually true for the long-time Locust Pointers) and makes you want to keep coming back.

What a great place to eat!!. Just read the review from Mr. Unhappy. This is a no-nonsense place with great food and cheap prices. If anyone knows the history of Rallo's (yes, almost 70 years of service), you do go to the cashier and tell them what you had to eat on their Honor system. We should all be able to operate this way!!! So Mr. former waiter had to wait awhile (according to him) he was probably there no more than one hour - total - BIG DEAL! If you want to go across the street and have a processed meal over a homecooked meal, go right ahead, Mr. I don't want to wait for my home cooked breakfast. That is the problem with everyone in this Country - they do not know what it is like to be patient. Also, why don't you want to enjoy the total experience of a true Balwer Hon-type waitress?? This is what it's all about and I applaud the longevity, as well as the tenacity of Vince and Angie Rallo - kudos to you both for keeping a Baltimore tradition alive!!

Go to McDonald's across the street, at least they are polite as they sell you bad food.. Was recommended by a friend and have to say it was awful. I was there for breakfast on a saturday due to the fact that blue moon cafe was packed. Let me preface this review by saying that I used to be a waiter, so it takes alot for me to bash a place. When we arrived, the waitress did not come over to us for about 10 minutes. When she finally did come over, she got us drinks and disappeared for another 10. Took our order and it was a typical 15 minutes for my two eggs with sausage and toast. Oh yeah, the place was half full. When she brought the food, she literally dropped it on the table in front of my girlfriend and I. I literally mean dropped it so that another table looked over at us. I just kind of laughed. She then proceeded to disappear for the entire meal. The food was average at best and the decor was as bland as the food. After finishing the meal, we waited about 15 minutes as we in no real rush and actually had to go to the cashier and tell them what we had to finally pay. The waitress NEVER came back to give us a check, check on drinks, or even ask us how everything was. If I were you, I would go across the street to McDonald's. As I said, I am a former waiter, for me to write a review and waste my time it has to be a really bad experience.

Locals flock to the diner-like restaurant for hearty breakfast platters and weekly specials at affordable prices.. In Short
Hearty meals draw college students and nearby workers to this family-friendly brick rowhouse, which resembles a diner minus the neon colors and chromed-filled decor. Inside, guests sitting on round stools at the counter or at tables in the center of the room can choose from a variety of inexpensive menu options, including crabcakes, fried oysters, fries with gravy and spaghetti. Brunch also is available on Sundays.

I know almost everyone by name. That is how long everyone has been there. When I sit down for lunch my drink is brought to me befiore I order it, and you notice that the waitresses seem to know almost everyone there like that. Super friendly and incxredibly fast service...one of my favorite informal places anywhere.

Hometown Fab!. What a great place to just sit back and relax! The food so good! The ambiance, well, let's just say it is just like home. The service is so good that the waitress sees you and she knows exactly what drink you want before you even sit down!

I love the Sunday Brunch!

Too good to miss

When mom's not around. Go here for home cooking. The waitresses are friendly and know what they're doing. With Mr. Rallo usually in the place, you know that things are going to be good.

Sundays are crowded but it's no wonder with the gingerbread pancakes and cinnamon buns. If they're not on the specials, get the raisin french toast. Rallo's also makes the best Reuben around. Each night has it's own specials and I haven't been disappointed yet.
