Editorial Review for Szechuan Restaurant – by Steve Lichtenstein
The Scene
At first, the decor may seem formulaic even generic, but a quiet elegance somehow inhabits this restaurant's dining room. Bits of trivia keep your mind alert while pictures from different countries add an international twist to each brightly colored matching table.
The Food
Chinese food can sometimes be overly oily, but Szechuan's offerings are notably grease-free. General Tso's Chicken is deliciously crunchy and as exactly as spicy as you order it. Paul's Choice, a concoction of snow peas, broccoli and mushrooms with chicken, pork, beef or seafood in a special sauce, is especially tasty with shrimp and scallops. The most expensive dish, Neptune's Catch in Bird's Nest, is worth the extra dollars. This dish-to-die-for combines chicken, scallops, shrimp, vegetables and brown sauce in a cleverly conceived potato basket.

Insider Tips
Some Like It HotDon't take spice levels lightly. Unless you specify how hot you like it, you might get too much oomph or too little sizzle.
ParkingStreet parking, which is your main option here, isn't as bad in Federal Hill as it can be in Fells Point or Downtown. A block or two is probably the farthest you'll have to wander.

I have been going to this restaurant for years. The food is prepared very quickly, the service is prompt and unfailingly freindly and the food is very good. I would recommend both the twice cooked chicken and the moo shoo pork. Also, the cooks will prepare the food exactly as spicy as you want it. For the price the food is great, the servings are large and more then worth the price.
Pros: inexpensive, quick service
Cons: cliche atmosphere

What a great little place, it delivers too! Huge chunks of chicken breast in a spicy General Tso's, perfect cold sesame noodles, and very friendly service!
Pros: inexpensive, great food, polite service
