Liers!. I purchased my gown Oct 30,2010. My Shopping experience was good, not excellent. When I was given the details of my when my gown would arrive they told me four to six months. Which is acceptable of what my wedding planner told me to expect. I placed a call to the bridal salon 6 months later in early April, I was told that the gown would be her at the end of the month. I called again April 28,2011 and I was told that the gown would be here within the first two weeks of May. I called again at the end of May and they told me yes your gown is due to arrive the second week in June and we have a tracking number for you to keep track of your package. This time the gown did arrive however I never receive a call notifing me of the arrival. The gown arrived according to UPS on a Thursday; I called on Friday did not get an answer. On Saturday I called, gave my name and asked if the gown had arrived and a man in a nasty angery voice said "yes it did!" "We called you and left a message!" I explaned to him that I never received a message he told me that I was "lying and that they did call". I have never had someone speak to me so, rudely and, lie about a purchase that I had made which cost me thousands of dollars. I will not be using them to tailor my gown nor, for bridesmaids gowns or accessories. They lost my trust with the first lie (that my gown would be here in 4-6 months). I feel like they disrespected me and the value of my money.
Horendous Treatment, Do NOT buy from here. Do NOT go to this store. I have never been treated so horribly in a store. I felt like Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman today. I walked into Bridals by Niko excited to look at bridesmaid dresses. This mean lady approached me grudgingly asking me what I wanted. I told her I was here to look at coral bridesmaid dresses. She immediately attacks me "Are you just here to look or are you going to buy!" I was taken aback, I explained I need to look first to see if I like anything before I buy. She basically walked away from me. And when I asked to be pointed in the direction of the dresses she grunted and said I can look around. I asked her "Do you not want to help me? Because if so I will leave." She said "not really." Okaayyyyyyyyy then...I told her I did not know what her problem is, but that I would take my business elsewhere. And that this was no way to run a business. TERRIBLE! RUINED my day. DO NOT GO HERE!
Never would spend a dime in this store. My fiance and I were looking for bridesmaids dresses and vests for my groomsmens. I asked the man at the counter a question and he walked away from me mid-sentence. We walked out immediately. This is obviously no way to run a business and I would not recommend this store to anyone unless they don't mind being treated like trash.
SERVICE IS SO SAD AND WHAT ABOUT A ANSWER MACHINE???. WHY SETTLE FOR A NICE DRESS BUT THE WHOLE TIME YOU ARE BEING TREATING LIKE TRASH. I'M GETTING MARRIED LATER ON THIS YEAR. I HAVE TRIED AND TRIED TO CALL THEM FOR INFORMATION. THEY HARDLY EVER ANSWER THE PHONE. THEN SOME MAN ANSWER WITH AN ATTITUDE LIKE I WAS AN EX-WIFE OR SOMETHING!! I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK AND I CALLED OVER A MONTH AGO. THE SERVICES IS VERY POORLY. TO BE FRANK WITH YOU..." YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOU ARE SERVING AND WHAT NEWPAPER OR GOVERNOR'S OFFICE THEY WORK FOR"!!! NIKO'S BRIDAL KEEP THAT IN MIND. :)
Big Selection. Great Alterations. They had the exact dress that I wanted and the seamstresses made it look great on my very disproportionate body! My friends said I couldn't wear that style dress - but the seamstress (I think she may have been the owner)did a great job. I also bought my bridesmaid dress for my sisters wedding there in 2007 and they were great then too.
Saved my Daughter's Wedding. I rarely take the time to write reviews, but this is a special situation and I think the people at this store deserve it. My daughter ordered her gown online to save money. I agreed with her that it was worth the extra wait to save money in these economic times. Three weeks before her June 6th wedding it had still not arrived and they said it would take another 6 weeks even tho she ordered it last fall! She put a chargeback on her credit card, and in desperation we went to different stores trying to do a a super rush order. Finally arriving at Niko's Bridals, we were shocked to see that they had the exact gown in stock at almost the same price in a size close to what my daughter needed. They altered the gown on a rush basis and my daughter looked beautiful on her wedding day thanks to them. I will tell my friends that internet shopping for the most important dress of your life online is not such a great idea, and we found out the hard way. Make the drive to Fell's Point and Niko's instead. (They even have racks of $99 gowns that are amazing) Patricia G.
Horrible Customer Service. My friend used Bridals by Niko for her bridesmaid's dresses. I was fine in regards to paying for my dress and having it fitted; however, they were horrible when I went to pick it up. Her wedding was two days after Christmas and I went to pick it up the week of the wedding. I went earlier in the week thinking I would get it before the holidays. I had already had alterations done so all I had to do was pick it up. I went at 4:30pm on a weekday they were supposed to be open until 7pm. They were closed - there was no note on the door and no holiday hours posted. They had no answering machine with hours, and did not take messages. I wrote them an email stating that I was disappointed in the lack of information and needed to hear back so that I could get my dress before the wedding. The man who I dealt with was not apologetic at all - in fact when I called the day before the wedding to make sure I could pick it up, he was very nasty. He spoke rudely and told me that I was the one accusing them of having bad service and that they were open just for me to pick up my dress that day. Apparently the date I was given to pick up my dress was an "appointment", when I understood that my dress would be ready to pick up starting that date. Apparently, I picked it up too late, even though I never received a call stating anything otherwise. He told me that the sign with the emergency note/holiday hours fell down. When I went to pick up my dress, there was nothing indicating the store would be closed that day at all. He also wrote me a pretty nasty email in response blaming me for not picking it up (at the same exact time I called to find out if they were open). In short terms - no understanding of customer service or that the "customer is always right" if not usually right. I recommend going somewhere else...in fact I recommend Jacqueline's Bridal where I got my dresses. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE THERE!
I called the Alfred Angelo customer service line to file a complaint about the terrible service at Bridal by Niko, and the representative mentioned that they have gotten plenty of complaints about that place. I asked if any other Alfred Angelo retailers in the area would treat me better, and she basically said, go to any store but that one. So my advice: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Here is my story: I called Bridal by Niko to ask if I could be measured for an Alfred Angelo bridesmaid dress, and I mentioned that my sister would be placing the order through a bridal shop where she is located. (I understand bridal salons aren't big fans of measuring you for a dress you aren't ordering through them, but my sister wanted to order the dresses from the same bolt of fabric, and I was prepared to pay extra for the measurements & alterations.) The woman on the phone was pleasant and said that would be perfectly fine.
When I arrived at the store, the man at the counter was very nasty to me. First, he told me I could not be measured, and then he fought me over the fact that the woman on the phone told me I could be measured (what happened to the "customer is always right"?). He finally said, "Fine" -- and by that time I was so frustrated with how he treated me that I said I was dissatisfied with the service and would get my measurements elsewhere. He acted like he didn't care one bit that I felt mistreated.
I know I was just going there for alterations, but I got such a bad vibe from the place (confirmed by my call to Alfred Angelo customer service & the other reviews on here) that I seriously recommend you go to another salon that will treat you better. Best of luck with your upcoming celebrations!

Brides and bridal parties beware. If you are going to use Niko's I suggest that you deal ONLY with the sales staff. The woman who took care of us was Jean AND she was outstanding. I cannot say enough nice things about her. She truly loved what she was doing and was excellent in her customer service.
The owners are an entirely different story. I had half a mind to ask the woman what she was doing in the bridal business when she so clearly disliked people. What a grumpy woman. The man owner at the counter barely spoke with us, just gave us hand signals. I would put him in the same category as the woman - both real haters. Do not deal directly with them. Get the name of your sales person and deal only with her.
Service not that great.
I bought my wedding gown from here and the first 2 ladies that helped me were as nice as can be. The owner was not so nice. I was told the gown would come in by May and by the end of May I called and they said it was not in yet. I asked why was I told it would be in May. The owner said someone told you wrong. I had ordered this dress at the end of January. I did not get a call until June. When I went to go pick this dress up, they had ordered me the wrong size dress. It was 2 sizes too small. This was their error and they made it to be it was mine.The lady said she could alter it and it would be fine. I said I paid all this money for a dress and I do not want it altered. They stated it would take too long to reorder. After talking to them for a while they finally rush ordered and I got the right size, but when I came in to try it on the lady was very rude and tried to rush me out. I would never do business with them again. You are paying all this money to them
and they do not respect you back and they dont want you there anymore. They need to learn a little bit more about customer service.
