The Scene
This local institution exists only to serve the house special. Practical eating defines the family-friendly environment, and cleanup is a snap thanks to the brown paper laid out by Obrycki's tuxedo-clad servers. Let your inner child flourish as they tie a "Baltimore's Famous" paper bib around your neck, proudly displaying the city's most charming mascot.

The Food
Obrycki's serves steamed crabs without the requisite Old Bay seasoning (a staple in Maryland households), but it does so with confidence and gusto. The house blend of "magical seasonings" is a peppery mixture that perfectly compliments melt-in-your-mouth crab. Save some dough and order the medium-sized treats bursting with meat. And let's not kid ourselves: Crab is labor-intensive, so enjoy the fruits of your labors with an ice-cold draft beer.

Crabs were outstanding (cannot comment on anything else because we didn't eat anything else). Personally, I like Obrycki's seasoning far better than the Old Bay that usually encrusts Baltimore crabs, so this was a wonderful find. There were six of us and zero complaints. Service was great. Atmosphere good.

We have been taking yearly trips to Baltimore for Obrycki's for years. The hard shell crabs are the best. Delicious soups also. They are closed for the winter and will reopen March 9, 2009 due to the high quality of crabs they depend on serving.
