Simply awful!.
Deserves zero stars. I was born and raised in Texas, where Mexican food is a religious experience. I was moaning about the fact that I had yet to find good Mexican food in Baltimore. A friend asked if I had tried Los Amigos, and she said it was good. I had reservations, because she's from Michigan, so would she even recognize good Mexican food? Nevertheless, I tried Los Amigos. I was right to have reservations. I had the absolute worst Margarita I had ever had. I expect freshly made-from-scratch Margaritas at Mexican restaurants. Los Amigos uses what must be the cheapest ready-made mixer; Jose Cuervo's pre-mixed, bottled Margaritas are immensely better than what I had at Los Amigos. Disappointed, I switched to beer and ordered a Negro Modelo. It was barely cooler than room temperature. I ordered enchiladas; they arrived, topped with shredded lettuce and sour cream -- a very odd presentation for enchiladas, which are normally served with red chili or queso sauce. The enchiladas were made with thin, store-bought tortillas. The beef enchilada was filled with ground beef that had been browned with a little spice; it would have made good dog food, but it wasn't a good enchilada. The chicken enchilada was filled with nice chunks of white meat chicken, but the chicken was under-seasoned. I couldn't tell what kind of cheese was in the cheese enchilada; it wasn't melted and gooey like it should be. Los Amigos is terrible. I won't be back.
