Tips for Spa On The Square

DO NOT BUY. This by far the worst nail service I have received. In addition, forget you will get to use the groupon as advertised three times. The owner will make sure you don't come back! After trying to schedule my second appointment three times I finally gave up. Not worth my time for the $20 and poor service.

Do not buy this groupon! I went to Spa on the Square yesterday to get a mani/pedi and it was a terrible experience. I had to book my appointment a month in advance to use my groupon. However, when I arrived at the Spa, I still had to wait 30 minutes. The technician who performed my pedicure was horrible. Not only was she rude, but she cut my toenails way too low. I told her it hurt and she said nothing. They are still hurting today and I'm worried about getting an ingrown toenail or infection, particularly because I'm 6 months pregnant. She also did a terrible job painting my toenails- I could have reached down to do a better job myself even being 6 months pregnant. Also, I don't think they sanitize their tools between clients which makes me very nervous. Spend your money somewhere else!

Do Not purchase this! I have been trying to get an appt with them for months, as soon as you tell them,(they ask,) if you have purchased a Groupon, they will not book an appt, even if they have openings. I have gotten every excuse in the book from call back next week, to our last appt is 5:30 even though they close at 8! If they are bombarded with the Groupon that they had out end of last year, then they should not have posted another one. Please heed these warnings! Its as if they want to push off all these people that bought Groupons, so that they can expire, and you are either forced to either give up and not go there, or can use only the "purchased amount" paid for the Groupon.

L.F. - I am curious if Groupon did refund you because they would not refund mine.

All the positive reviews here are obvious plants by people who work at the salon. they couldn't be more fake. any company that would set up bogus reviews is NOT to be trusted.

DONT DO IT. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. I even contacted Groupon for a refund, I'm not sure why they continue to advertise them. If you want a manicure that looks like a 5th grader did it.. go for it.

BEWARE...these people are LIARS and SCAMMERS. Like many others, I foolishly purchased the 3 mani-pedi groupon because it seemed like a great deal. Well it was too good to be true.

When calling to make my appt the lady demanded my groupon number before she would book an appt for me. After I gave her my number she told me to hold on and I waited for almost 15 minutes. Finally I hung up and called back. I confirmed my date and time, and the women told me that if I didn't show up that they would redeem the groupon. I said I would be there. I'm a punctual, organized person.

When I went to the appointment the women at the desk acted dumb and told me that they didn't have me scheduled that day. She flipped through her book for a minute and then told me that I was scheduled the week before. I told her that that was a mistake and I wouldn't have scheduled that day because I had a baby shower to go to. I asked if I could still get a mani-pedi that day. Mind you, there was No One else in the salon. She told me that they had other appointments and that I could rescheduled. She also stated that I would have to redeem one of the 3 mani-pedis for the appointment I missed. I told them no thanks!

If your business participates in a groupon deal then you should expect to have customers using them. Not treat them differently, lie and scam them out of the deal they paid for. It's simple AWFUL customer service and AWFUL business practice.

I bought a groupon for three mani-pedis. They made every excuse not to honor the groupon. I made an appointment for me and my mother. They would only let me use the groupon for myself, even though I had paid for three. I tried to use it for myself again at a later date. I had made an appointment in advance, and then got sick. I was contagious, so I called to cancel the day before the appointment with the intention of rescheduling. They used the cancellation as an excuse to void one of the three visits I had paid for. They would not reschedule without another bar code number. I did not reschedule, and did not use my last bar code. I was so disgusted with the attitude and the service. The mani-pedi I did get was ok, but in effect, it cost $49. I would have become a regular customer if I had been fairly treated. This vendor should not be part of the groupon program. I will not give them my business, and neither should anyone else.

Will never go here again! I only went here because of the Groupon I had purchased. I called to make an appointment about 10 days in advance and had very rude service on the phone. The woman would not even take my apointment unless I had my Groupon bar code available, so I had to call back with that. Upon arrival, the store was very crowded and stuffy. I think it was the owner who did my manicure and it was horrible. My nails barely looked any different than they did prior to coming in and they were bad! The polish job was uneven and it was very noticable. The pedicure on the other hand was OK. It was done by a young woman who appeared to be Persian. The toe polish looked nice when it was finished. My feet weren't as pumiced as I would have liked, but that was the only downfall. I will never go back here again, even if the Groupon is for a good price. They shouldn't offer a Groupon promotion if they plan on treating the clients like dirt!

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I only want to go back to get use of my existing groupon because I don't want them to get away with their awful service. They make it really difficult to use groupons, and even when they let you schedule them, they only let you use them at very inconvenient times. I went a few times, and had mediocre experiences, but continued to go because I wanted to support local business. The young girl who does pedicures usually does a good job. However, there is an older woman who works there. She did such a lousy manicure the last time I went in that I was forced to take the polish off! I asked her to fix it, and it still looked like a little kid had done it. I was so embarrassed by it I tried to fix it by going to buy a polish to match. I was unable to get a close enough color so I took it off, even though I was going to a wedding and was hoping to have nice looking nails. Ugh. What a headache.

Great Customer Service to Grouponers Who Call Ahead. This is my first ever review on Citysearch and while I wouldn't normally take the time out to write something, I felt compelled after reading the negative reviews. I only heard about this place because of Groupon and I've done two mani-pedis here so far and couldn't be more impressed! They were besieged with bargain hunters like myself but they've got it down to a science in handling the workload. I understand they have to stay available for people paying full price so they only take Groupon folks who make a reservation. If that's all I have to do to get the great customer service I've gotten, no problem! I've been so happy with this place that I am considering coming back after my Groupon special is used up... even if I do live 45 minutes away! Keep up the good work!
