Very Unhappy with the place. I was a member for a year. My problem was they kept double billing me. When I asked for a statement the billing dept lady was enraged yelling at me in the coffee shop. I dropped out after the first year. The pool was good for my legs so I tried to go back after I became out of shape. The 60 days for 60 dollars. I paid by check because of the billing issue. Before I could get started they found a cancer on my nose that needed surgery and I was not able to start so they say ok call when you are ready. I began noticing a charge on my VISA. Low and behold not only had I not signed up for a new membership but they went in my old file and got my VISA number and began billing me for several months before I caught it. I had to go round and round and consult with consumer protection to get the money back. The manager Mike was a total jerk and uncompassionate. He said if I refund your money you will pay 99.00 a month to come back. It took weeks after the issue was caught, going back and forth with my bank and consumer protection to resolve the billing issue. Finally Mike gave the money back and he was unwilling even though I was to forgive and forget the matter. I was willing to come back last month when I found they put a note in my chart not to let me join up.

So that was my billing problem. Next was the year I was there. You won't believe the fights that go on in the pool. The dirt and filth that are on the floors. And don't even mention the hot tub with all the dubree in the bottom.

I gave them one star because it was convient.

I found the manager to be greedy and rude. Not at all interested in the person signing up.

Oh and the hype to sign up with a month free was a crock. I had folks I sent to join and they say they give you some off and well I try it sending my neighbor and well the sheet was torn up so they would not give me the referral. Between the dirt and the fighting that goes on with members. The ladies shove and fight for space in the pool all the time. Unless you go on a weekend where it is afternoon and not many are there. I would not recommend this place to anyone with the current manger Mike Meeham.

I forgot to mention the ladies room. The hair in the showers and the athletes foot issue. I have never had it till I went there and walked in the showers. Doctor had to give me perscription to fight it off my toes. Then the ladies don't flush always after the poo poo and stuff. They sit on toiets wet and well you get the picture. The showers are a mess all the time but in the morning. And if you swim watch your bathing suit disappear. I paid good money at Sears for swim wear and went through at least 4 in a year there. The suits just fell apart from the dryer and pool.

MAC? not going BAC. I visited the ever popular MAC the other week. I wanted to know, what all the fuss is about? Why is this place so popular? Well, the staff seems ever so friendly, and the place appears clean and upbeat. But, my gosh it is crowded! I went at a time that I might use the pool and equipment if I were a member (9:30-noonish) The pool was clean, but very crowded for lap swimming. Had to share lanes. ( I rarely had that problem at the local Y for that same time of day and for less than half the monthly cost) There is a lot going on. Lots of classes, lots of noise, lots of people. Not a very relaxing environment. It was hard to concentrate on what I was doing, in between dodging the people entering and exiting the lane I was in, not to mention the lady on the other side of the lane marker who consistently kicked over into my lane, nailing me a few times. (That will wake you up.) . On the upside, the therapy pool was very warm and felt good to get into after lap swimming and doing a little stretching. But, again, I was dodging people who were floating on their noodles, conversing and not aware of any one around them. Not to mention the swim instructor giving a private lesson to a young child, who also seemed unaware that any one other than she was in the pool. The hot tub was delightfully just the right temp, but again not very relaxing coupled with the noise level, the techno music and the crowded feeling.

I went to the MAC with the intention of signing up that day, but after my experience, I'm not sure I want to do that. I left wondering, don't they have a limit to how many people they sign up? Or, are they only interested in making money? ( I understand they recently raised their rates again. It's running almost a hundred dollars a month! That's a lot of cash for what you get. )

I'm still scratching my head wondering what is all the fuss about?
