Good for Sports, Not for Food

by jaybmore

You have to give the ESPN Zone props for what they do well - that is immersing you in the sports experience. As a restaurant, it is average at best. The wait for a restaurant its size is too long. Waiting for a drink at the bar is too long. Waiting to get your food is too long. And the food, average taste at an average value. The good thing is that you'll have a lot of time to watch whatever game you're viewing.

  • Pros: All the Sports You Could Want
  • Cons: Long waits, Average food

Bring the family: This sports mecca delivers hearty food and entertainment overload.

by Contributor

The Scene
More than a restaurant, it's practically a recreation center. The second floor is filled with state-of-the-art video games, air-hockey tables and batting cages. Sports fans can watch one of many TVs broadcasting the latest game, from NFL and NBA to cycling and golf.

The Food

Indulge your sports craving as you feed your gut. Cuisine runs the gamut from standard bar burgers and sandwiches to chicken and broccoli pasta or buffalo chicken salad. The chicken Caesar sandwich combines tender chicken breast, Caesar dressing and crisp lettuce, all tucked inside a buttered sesame bun. Sticky-sweet bourbon and maple syrup sauce makes the grilled pork chops great, but the cheese fries, dripping with melted cheddar, bacon and sour cream, are amazing. Reasonably priced and served in big portions, ESPN Zone's food fits the sports-infused atmosphere like a glove.

Out of towners

by dbjordan

This place is good for out of towners. It is not in the best location for locals, it is small and pricey. Just because it has the name ESPN on it does not make it a great sports bar. Even if you are from out of town, go to any of the other bars and you will have a better time Hon!

  • Pros: TV room, store
  • Cons: small, long lines, price

EPSN THE REAL ZONE

by woody757

If you're a tourist with more money than taste, this is your place. Fair price food, in surround-sound setting for all members of the family. It's a shrine to American sport, with an inspiring menu, just like the sports arenas sell at outrageous prices. The prices vary but the food is great especially for kids. (mostly finger food that have different values). Was taken in with friends visiting from out-of-town. Friends make sure that you do take your friends to this place. If you have kids, they'll enjoy the games. If you enjoy watching televised sport, you'll love it.

  • Pros: Prices, Food, Service
  • Cons: , Parking, N/A

Overpriced mediocrity

by puckman18

If you're a tourist with more money than taste, this is your place. Overpriced, mediocre food in surround-sound. It's a shrine to American sport, with an uninspiring menu (mostly saloon food that's poor value). Was dragged in with friends visiting from out-of-town. Friends wouldn't make friends take them to this place. If you have kids, they'll enjoy the games. If you enjoy watching televised sport, you'll love it. If you want a decent meal in a relaxing atmosphere, this isn't the place.

  • Pros: Fun for kids, Good to watch games
  • Cons: Loud, Overpriced

what were you thinking?

by songoflove

This is really a tourist nightmare. It is long lines overpriced food and loud kids everywhere. This is not what a sportsbar should be. Go to Fells Point for a better time and more for your money

  • Pros: nothing
  • Cons: everything

I high recomend the ESPN Zone

by allwysred

I have to differ with the majority of the comments made about the ESPN Zone. Yes, it is a place that is geared towards sports fanatics, but it is not just a place for the men. I am a female and I enjoy going there with my friends all the time. I don't go there for the food, which by the way impressed me, I go there to have fun and play games. It is not a place for everyone, but I am in my 20's and I still love a place that lets me play video and arcade games while I wait for my food. And no one seems to mention the open bar they have either which is another high point for me. I think it is all personal taste so I recomend you try it out for yourself.

  • Pros: fun, not very expensive
  • Cons: parking, more seating

sports nuts only

by mandy682

ESPN Zone is o.k for men, boys and sports nuts only. Not really anything for girls, but that's why it's espn right? well they are not organized at all and made up wait outside in the cold for 5 minutes before we finally convinced them we weren't going into the restaraunt part just the games part.

  • Pros: nice interio
  • Cons: unfriendly staff
