Awful customer service

by David Reynolds

I visited Dangerously Delicious Pies (which is actually on Light Street, not Fleet Street) for the first time with a gift certificate. They refused to honor it or to offer any type of alternate deal. I followed up with an email to the owner and got a rude reply. I will never go back.

  • Pros: none that I know of
  • Cons: poor customer service, very expensive

Maybe time has made it go downhill?

by btraynor

I purchased pies for the holidays from Dangerously Delicious Pies in Federal Hill. The coconut cream pie tasted like lemon pie with a few toasted coconut thrown on top. The pumpkin pie was average. Not great. Definitely NOT worth $20 a pie! I also took home a chicken pot-pie the night I stopped in. It was okay, not enough gravy and NOT worth $35 (the pies are small). The only enjoyable part was the crust. As for service, average I suppose.... I wasn't impressed and for those prices I should have been. Weber's Farm pies are SOOOOOOOO much better.

Poor customer service and no better then average pies

by razgriz1138

Purchased pies for the Thanksgiving holiday. Sad to say that I was not amazed in the slightest. Pies weren't bad....just not "Dangerously" good, especially for the price.

Also, had some exceptionally poor customer service. Called to ask if additional pies were availible, woman on the phone was unwilling to check and seemed to be pretty rude about it. When we e-mailed the management with our concerns, we got a very nasty reply. We will not be going back, and I suggest you don't either. Your time and money are better spent elsewhere.

  • Pros: Average pies, some interesting recipe ideas
  • Cons: Terrible service will keep us from ever coming back

Yummy!!

Check out the mention in the September 04 Bon Appetite. This place rocks, literally. Don't tell mom but these are the best pies ever. The blueberry is my favorite but peach was right behind!

Rodney's Rockin' Pies!

by scottcarberry

Simply the best pecan pie in Baltimore since Sisson's famous Bourbon Pecan Pie. If you can't get to Fell's Point to get your pie-grub on, you can also scarf down some Dangerously Delicious Pie at SoBo Cafe in Federal Hill

These baked goods literally rock the house thanks to a bluesman who loved his granny.

by Contributor

The Scene
Under a black and white awning that playfully positions a pie above pirate crossbones, former rockabilly frontman of the Glenmont Popes Rodney Henry is drawing crowds for a very different kind of gig. He's selling pies. Using the recipes his grandmother taught him, Henry entices eager eaters to sample a slice (and a cup of java) at two tiny tables beside sunny windows. Cases are filled with full custom custard, key lime and rhubarb waiting to be boxed and taken home.

The Food
Grandma sure had good recipes. Crusts are flaky and glisten with sugar; the insides are decadent. A chess pie is dense, fudgy chocolate, while the fruit-filled delicacies showcase the apples or cherries or strawberries. Choices extend further to a derby pie (with chocolate, pecan and caramel) and a sour cream and peach that's loaded with plenty of cinnamon.
