A world class symphony in a two bit town, such a deal. They somehow draw the world's finest musicians to make guest appearances. Any American city would be proud to have such a symphony but here they are neglected. I love that you don't have to get super dressed up to go. The venue is lovely but the neighborhood is a little scary.

The Scene
This unique building scorns flat walls and 90-degree angles in favor of graceful convex curves made from glass, brick and wood. You can enjoy excellent acoustic quality from any of the 2,443 seats. Considered one of the finest concert halls in the country, the Meyerhoff is located in Baltimore's Cultural District, surrounded by notable restaurants, the Lyric Theater and the University of Baltimore.
The Performances
The Meyerhoff hosts about 150 performances a year. Classical masterworks, orchestral pops, family concerts and the odd comedy act mean there's an event for everyone at this venue. Baltimore's acclaimed Symphony Orchestra offers matinee and evening performances, while special events range from James Taylor to the Peking Acrobats, Victor Borge to Bob Newhart. There's even a Kids' Halloween Concert.
