Our family's favorite place!

This place is our family's favorite place to go! The ice cream is great, the service is wonderful, and what a fabulous environment! We go for lunch during the day, and ice cream at night. The food is really good during the day, and the young lady that works behind the counter is so friendly! One of the best things about this place is that it's always so clean! We never worry about the state of the kitchen (especially since you can see into it, so there's nowhere to hide dirt!). My kids ask to go to the Ice Cream Cottage almost every single day. It's really an important part of the Arbutus community. The Ice Cream Cottage has a real family-owned feeling, unlike cold chain franchises, and their prices can't be beat. Anyone that says otherwise is completely crazy. If you want a real old-fashioned ice cream parlor experience, you should really take your family there. You won't regret it!

nice neighborhood place

The Ice Cream Cottage is my favorite place in Arbutus! The ice cream and snoballs are great. Most of the staff is friendly. I have only had one problem. On one occassion I was waited on by a young man with blonde hair and he was not very polite. He gave me an attitude about a banana milkshake. I just dismissed it as immaturity. But on every other occassion I have had great and friendly service. I just love the place! Try it ... you'll like it!

I would consider myself a frequent customer to the Ice Cream Cottage. I would always visit on Sunday nights usually not that busy and get myself a nice scoop of ice cream. My last experience was not something to rave about. I had a an order for four people to go. I told the young lady what I wanted and she then prepared it for me. Usually I get offered a bag for my order, but she could care less. My rang up my order wrong and then got an attitude when I tired to help her with my order.

When I got back home I was dissappointed. The two dip sundae was barely a one dip and all of it was whip cream. The milkshake was half empty and the banana split only had one half of a banana!

A drive for nothing.

My family and I drive from Howard County all they way to the Ice Cream Cottage quite frequently. I visited the Ice Cream Cottage on Wednesday, November 5th. I was stuck in traffic most of the way and ended up at the Ice Cream Cottage around 9pm or so. I was sent to get my mother a no-sugar added strawberry milkshake, as she is diabetic. When I arrived I went to open the door and to my surprise the door was locked and no one was to be seen. All the lights were on, but I could not see anyone inside. I waited five or ten minutes, but eventually decided to leave and go get my ice cream somewhere else. I was quite displeased, it was a little after 9pm and the sign says open til 9:30 on Wednesdays. That just seems very irresponsible to me.

Great Place to bring the family!

The Ice Cream Cottage is such a good place to go! I go there almost every day wether it is after school, at night with friends, or any time with my family. Whenever I go down, I find a nice person behind the counter and wonderful food and ice cream. When I go down with my family, my little brother and I loveto play checkers! I also must say that the chicken and egg salad sndwiches are amazing! I think that anyone that disagrees that the ICC is awesome, is stupid!!

Awesome place to chill

So Im Blaire and Im 17. I go to the Ice Cream Cottage with a few friends at least once every weekend. I find that the Ice Cream Cottage is a great place to get great tasting ice cream and awesome service. Plus the prices are extremely reasonable too!!! I love how the Ice Cream Cottage offers a delicious variety of ice cream with new flavors all the time! My favorite right now is egg-nog! If you have never been to The Ice Cream Cottage I urge you to go, you WONT be dissapointed! I promise!!

Mediocre family owned.

It was my first time coming to the ice cream cottage. It was Wednesday 28th of November. I came in with my children. The Ice Cream Cottage was recommended to me a couple of times from my coworkers, so I thought, why not. When we arrived we found the booths quite dirty, chocolate stains and all sorts of stuff on them. We looked for another booth and they were all dirty and not taken care of. We decided then to take the ice cream to go. When I approached the counter I had to wait a minute or two for the server to actually come out of the room/kitchen. No "hello", no "what can I get for you", I was quite surprised, because most of my friends said that the Ice Cream Cottage was very god overall. When I asked the server to make me a milkshake, she absolutely flipped. She slammed the metal cup and got extremely upset for some reason. Then when I got my milkshake it was very thin (as I order extra thick for a dollar extra) and only filled about halfway. I told my coworkers and they were repulsed. We all said we would never visit the Ice Cream Cottage again. Usually most family owned places are very nice in service and great in products. This one is neither.

Best Atmosphere!

I go to the Ice Cream Cottage everyday after work with my husband Jim. We love the ice cream and playing checkers on the tabletops!!! The have the best wait staff and the place is VERY clean!! I would reccomend it to everyone. Bring the whole family!!

Great place for the whole family

I love the Ice Cream Cottage. It reminds me of an old fashioned ice cream shop. The checker board tables give the place character as well as some fun! The soups and sandwiches at lunch are great. You can tell it is all homemade! The ice cream is also delicious! It has been wonderful everytime I have been there!

This place never has any products!

I am a usual customer to the Ice Cream Cottage. But recently they never have any supplies. No Bananas, no milk. It seems like everytime you go in there they don't have something. And even ice cream.

Also the Cottage doesn't have anything to set itself apart from its competition.

They have no trademark.

I'd rather go to Ben and Jerry's were they have those delicious homemade waffle cones.

Also this year, the new staff is very rude. I do not know what it is but even day shift is quie rude. I mean does anybody greet their customers anymore?

The Ice Cream Cottage is a great dissappointment now. A couple years ago it was a great place to be and eat some ice cream. This year everything has gone downhill.
